Don Scott, 84, passed away on February 20, 2020. He was born on September 5, 1935, in Forester, Arkansas to Glen and Euna Scott. Don graduated from Magnet Cove High School in 1954, served in the United States Air Force from October 1957-May 1962, and graduated from Arkansas A & M (now the University of Arkansas Monticello) in 1971 with a bachelor's degree in Science Industrial Arts. He worked as a draftsman and a teacher. Don loved working in the community, he was a member of Bryant Civitan, volunteered for the Special Olympics, collected money and wrapped presents for the Battered Women's Shelter, prepared food for the Ronald McDonald House, volunteered at the Election Polls, put flags on Veterans graves, planned parties and volunteered as a DJ for Parents without Partners and ushered at Robertson Auditorium and Arkansas Repertory Theatre. He loved dancing, eating ice cream and making things out of wood. Don would sell his woodworking items to raise money for different fundraisers. His favorite thing to make was wooden ink pens.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; Hazel Wagner and Joette Neighbours. He is survived by his life partner; Karen Cox, four sons; Eric, Chris, Anthony, Andrew, one daughter; Elizabeth, ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one sister; Ruby McClanahan.
