January 3, 1940 - January 14, 2020
Jackie David Fryer, was born in Morrilton, Arkansas on January 3, 1940, and departed for his heavenly home January 14, 2020, surrounded by his family.
He was preceded in death by his Mother, Netta Mae Windham Horsey, of Little Rock, and Harrison David Fryer of Mobile, Alabama, and Grandfather & Grandmother, Oliver & Ida Windham of Little Rock, AR.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 45 years, Betty Jean Fryer, daughter, Kimberly Ann Fryer, son, Bryan David Fryer, sister, Suzanne Leslie, and step-sons David Ray and Mark Sanders. In tow also 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, along with a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, sisters in law, daughters in law and VW friends.
Jack played football for Mills High School, was a lifeguard at Willow Springs and Windy Beach, and was Co-owner and Founder of Independent Foreign Car. He built and earned a living in his back yard shop, Twin Willow Import Service for 35 years, working until he was 70. He raced Mini-Modified's with VW engines on the dirt tracks all over Arkansas in the early 70's and his cars number was ''21.''
The beginning of his Volkswagon career carried him to Arizona and California, where he found an above garage Apt and napped in the hot afternoons after work in a cool Southern California Grapefruit Orchard owned by a landlord who liked his ''Southern Accent.''
He loved nature, fishing, gardening, birds, dogs, his back yard Koi Pond and Sanctuary, and he also loved Tony Stewarts NASCAR.
He was an avid story teller, loved company and loved laughter.
He could grow a 12 foot tomato plant, and the juice from that fruit could have been marketed and distributed.
He was a Baptized member and taught boys Sunday School at Archview Baptist Church in his teenage years, and read and studied Ellen White and the importance and Holiness of the Sabbath and 7th Day Adventist as an adult.
He loved the Lord and his wife Betty Jean.
He loved to make people laugh... and bring a smile.
He worked hard all his life and we will miss him.
He made his Mark.
He is a VW Legend, unforgettable and undeniable.
Kim,sorry for your loss! Your dad was a good mechanic and a friend 😢!!
I miss you Uncle Jack. All my life I stood in awe at the things you built with your hands. VW Bugs, Beetles, Buses, and Trikes. Some of my earliest memories are of you taking me for a ride on those Trikes. What I wouldn't give for one more ride.
Happy Birthday Uncle Jack!!!

RIP
Dear Betty, Kim and family.
I'm so saddened of Jacks passing. As you know, we grew up together. Jack was a great guy with a wonderful family that I loved. May God give us all peace knowing that he with Jesus and his family that his gone on before him. Gone from our sight but not forgotten.
Sincerely,
Joyce

My deepest sympathies to Betty, Kimberly and all Jack's family. Jack took Kim and me to Lake DeGray to ski and camp. We had so much fun trying to get all three of us up on skis at once, Kim, Candi Spikes and me. He always helped me when my Nissan needed work and made fun of Kim and me for having our car seats so close to the steering wheel. He said "You girls drive with your t_ts!" LOL. He was a good man. May you rest in peace.
Prayers for you and your family
Betty:
We are so sorry for your loss. We always enjoyed our time with you and Jack. He always had a better garden than we did! We will miss him.
Kim, there are not words. I know how much you loved your father and he, to you. Prayers for you and your entire family.

Kim
I’m so saddened to hear about your dad passing. May God confront you with his love and grace during this time. Prayers for you and your family for the days ahead.
I feel fortunate to have known Jack and proud to call him a friend.
He started out working on several of my vehicles not knowing how or why a friendship would be formed. Jack was always fair and honest . I always enjoyed being around him and learned from his mechanical abilities. Kim for the longest I never knew Jack was your Dad. I will miss Jack , like so many others that got to know him.
Sincerely
Steve Fraim and Family

Kim, Bryan and Joyce,
I'm so sorry to hear that your sweet daddy has passed on and is now sitting with Jesus. A dad's love and devotion to his daughter (and son) is so special and your dad loved you both so much. I wish I was there to hold your hand, Kimmy. May God bring you peace as you cherish his memory and the good times that you shared together. I love you all.
