July 24, 2000 - January 9, 2020
Rebekah Michelle Harpool went home to be with Jesus on January 9, 2020, after a tragic accident. Rebekah was born July 24, 2000, the youngest of five children in the Harpool family. From the very beginning, Rebekah was a joyful addition to the Harpool home. She spread love and warmth to all she met. Her compassionate and kind spirit broke through the dry and sarcastic characteristics of the other Harpool children. Her older siblings Rachel, Joshua, Jeremiah, and John know that she made each of them better, kinder people. As the youngest by almost six years, Rebekah was extremely close to her mother, Leslie, and spent several wonderful years as an only child while her siblings were in college and working. Rebekah shared her family's affinity for music being an accomplished pianist and vocalist. She was always willing to share her musical gifts with her friends and family. Even from a young age, she began singing and leading worship in the children's ministry at Fellowship and loved singing in the choirs at Little Rock Central and UCA. Christmas Eves were always filled with her beautiful voice and music for all to enjoy.
Rebekah was her own person, strong in her beliefs and convictions. She was the best example of showing Christ's love through actions. Her family believes that she would want her death to teach people to spread love and understanding despite differences. Rebekah gave of her whole heart to all she met. She was a great encourager and champion of others. She was intensely passionate about her work with children with special needs. She was a sophomore in the honors college at UCA and looked forward to being a special education teacher after graduation. Rebekah touched so many lives. Most recently, she worked with Community Connections, organizing and teaching art classes for special needs children in the central Arkansas area. From her volunteer work to leading worship at church to teaching piano lessons, she enriched the lives of those around her. The world feels darker without her bright light and warm spirit.
In honor of her giving spirit, her family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Community Connections online at www.communityconnectionsar.org or checks be mailed to Community Connections, 1000 SWN Dr STE 101, Conway, AR 72032 (write Rebekah's Memorial in the memo line):
A memorial service honoring her life will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at 10 am at Fellowship Bible Church, 1401 Kirk Road, Little Rock, Arkansas, with a visitation to follow.
She was a bright light in my high school life that always had something soothing to say about any given situation. I miss her dearly.
Leslie and family,
My heart hurts for each of you. I can’t even begin to imagine how you feel. I send my love and prayers to you. May you feel the Lord’s arms of comfort around you.
Love,
Nancy
Dear Leslie and Rachel, Josh, Jeremiah, and John,

It is with a sad heart that I write this. As her Dentist, I watched Rebekah grow from a sweet and special little girl into an equally sweet and special young lady. With her ability to light up a room, to make people laugh and smile, she was always a joy to have in our office. Thankfully there is a strong Harpool family that can help Leslie, Rachel, Joshua, Jeremiah and John through this terribly hard time. Thank you all for your long time friendship and for the privilege of knowing Rebekah. Sincerely, Leif Lorenz

I just heard this tragic news and my heart breaks for you in your great loss and pain. Praying for you with much love and sympathy.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Words cannot express my sadness. May the comfort of God help you through this difficult time. Praying for the family.
The Harpool family is in my thoughts and prayers. My heart broke for you when I heard of Rebekah’s passing. I can’t find the right words to express my sympathy because I don’t know if there are right words. I just pray you find peace and comfort knowing she loved you all very much and that she’s in the arms of Jesus now. I know she is singing a joyful noise with Him. I love you and am praying for you.
Sending all my love to Rachel and all of the Harpool family. Rebekah's sister, Rachel, and I went to Rhodes together and were college roommates for 3 years. I first remember meeting Rebekah when she was 6-years-old. I stayed with the Harpools on a school break and Rebekah, Rachel, and I watched High School Musical together and sang all the songs. I recall Rebekah being such a sweet and joyful girl. Through my years of being friends with Rachel, I have enjoyed hearing updates about Rebekah and remember being so impressed with Rebekah when I saw her sing at Rachel's wedding. Holding all of you in my heart.
When we heard the news, we were in shock. The Agan’s have such vivid and loving memories of our families and Sweet Rebekah. She was the gem of the Harpool clan. We are assured of her new home, but also mourn the loss of one of God’s angels on earth. All of our love and hugs to each of you at this time. May God’s comfort and solace be ever present over you.
May His Spirit fill you with loving memories
Leslie, you and your family have been in our prayers. May God’s peace and His comfort surround you all now and the days to come. Rebekah took the time to listen and encourage many people and one of them was my youngest daughter, which my daughter still remembers to this day. Rebekah touched many lives and she still is in her gloried body. With love Jill, Philip, Daniel, Mary, Anna, Joe and Esther.
Josh, Jeremiah, and all the Harpools, our hearts are broken for you over this terrible loss. You are in our prayers. Sincerely, Jessica and David Koehler

I have so many memories of Rebekah! My favorites are: when she was a baby she would feel the rhythm of her Mother's guitar. she was always with Leslie and excited to see me and I worked with Leslie and Rebekah to replace a front yard when volunteered for One Church. Rebekah looked beautiful with mud on her face. She was a joy to be with always. I want to treat people the way she did. Rest In Peace my wonderful friend. You loved God with all of your heart and soul and you loved your neighbor as you loved yourself. You did it!!! I look forward to seeing you again sweet girl. Debbie Norman

May the sweet memories of Rebekah bring you joy as you reflect on her legacy. What an ambassador of Christ she was! This sorrow is hard and grief is heavy but she is face to face with our Jesus now.
I’m thankful for the way you trained her and all she learned from her parents and siblings. May His presence bring you comfort and peace as you remember her well.

I'm so sorry for your loss and heartbroken for your family. Rebekah went to school with my son Will, and through the years of elementary and high school, I don't remember ever seeing her without a smile on her sweet face. Will and I will treasure our memories of her, knowing that she made the world a better place in her brief time here. May your family have peace and joy in the blessings she brought to your lives.

I’m very sorry for the loss of your beautiful Rebekah and want you to know I am praying for the whole Harpool family.
Though my heart breaks with every remembrance of Rebekah’s passing, I cannot help but also feel a celebratory joy as I read the tributes of her friends - because they are evidence to me that when she saw Jesus face to face, He undoubtedly said to her, ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant’. Rebekah lived like Him - she genuinely cared for the well-being of others.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Rebekah’s family and friends. May God hold and comfort you.
