of Little Rock, AR
March 16, 1934 - October 19, 2019
Daris Marie Barré went to be with her Lord on October 19, 2019. She was born in Flint, Michigan on March 16, 1934, to George and Rosa Hutchins.
Daris was preceded in death by her parents and siblings. She was a resident of Little Rock and is survived by her husband of sixty-one years; James Barré, three sons; Mark Barré (Beth), Kevin Barré (Mary), Jim Barré, Jr. (Janice), six grandchildren; David Barré, Michael Barré, Evan Barré, Kristen Barré, Sydney Barré, and Brad Barré. Her devoted grandchildren will serve as her pall bearers.
This wonderfully caring, self-effacing woman was pointedly dedicated to being a world-class mom, a vocation truly of unbounded love for her three boys, and she succeeded masterfully. The deep love of her husband for her is barely equal to the limitless respect he always had for her as mother, confidant, companion, sweetheart and family rock. She was an avid green thumb gardener. After her sons left the home, she volunteered at Children's Hospital, and The Arkansas Arts Center. For years she was active in the local chapter of Questors, an organization dedicated to keeping history alive by supporting preservation, restoration and education.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at Roller Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway from 6-7 pm with Rosary starting at 7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am, Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at Christ the King, 4000 N. Rodney Parham Road.
Memorials may be made in Daris' name to The Monsignor Hebért Endowment Fund at Christ the King, 4000 N. Rodney Parham Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72212, or Catholic High School Endowment Fund, 6300 Father Tribou Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72205
Mr. Barre, Mark, Kevin, Jim and Family: May God grant you strength at this time of loss ! Mrs. Barre was a wonderful Catholic Lady that I was honored to really get to know through her volunteer work at the Catholic High annual Junktique sales. She was a sweet Lady who always treated everyone with kindness and love. Rest assured that she is now in Heaven with all of our loved ones who have passed away. May she rest in the Peace of Christ ! Reg Rogers Catholic High Class of 1977
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

We have good memories of Daris on the trips we made with our Travel Group. She was such a good sport and was always smiling. She made good cookies too.
I knew Daris many years ago when we were volunteer waitresses in the Vineyard Restaurant at the Art Center. Our "pay" was a free luncheon and on occasion a splash of cognac on our dessert. We all enjoyed our time there and Daris with her sweet disposition was always there with a sweet smile on her face.
We send our love to the entire family.
Daris was a good friend during hard times. She always came to visit us with handfuls of clothing for our son, Bart Jr. and friendship for me. May she rest with the angels in heaven for she was one here on earth!
I'll never forget the memories I have of growing up with you in my life. There are no words to express how sorely your love and affection will be missed.
My prayers are for are comfort for the Barré family at this difficult time.
