April 6, 1926 - February 20, 2019
Madelyn Hanshaw Wilson, of Conway, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019. Born April 6, 1926, in Douds, Iowa, she was the daughter of Loie and Wilbur Hanshaw.
Madelyn was a graduate of Keosauqua High School. During her life, she traveled to such places as Puerto Rico, Italy and the Bahamas. She adored her pets, enjoyed cooking and loved plants and flowers. Her professional career included positions with Montgomery Ward, the FBI and Market Strategies, where she retired at the age of 86.
Over the years, Madelyn was affectionately known as Mom, Granny, Gma and GGma. She was devoted to her family and loved them unconditionally. Most of all, she loved God and prayed that she would leave a legacy of faith and character for her children and grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons and their wives Rick and Marti Wilson of Maumelle, Arkansas; Doug and Joyce Wilson of Maumelle, Arkansas; and one daughter Kathy Wilson Hamm, of Conway, Arkansas; six grandchildren Jessica Hamm Meyer & husband Steven, Rebecca Wilson, Laurabeth Wilson, Hunter Wilson & wife Emily, Abigail Wilson Simpson & husband Justin and John Riley Wilson; six great-grandchildren Miles, Van and Mary Eades Wilson, Knox, Finley and Brewer Simpson; her sister, Marjorie Downey; nieces, Sandra Kerr Eckert & husband Richard, Linda Roush Neill and nephew, Wayne Roush. Madelyn was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Pauline Roush and Ruth Kerr and son-in-law, Phillip Hamm.
The family would like to thank everyone for being a part of Madelyn's life. She was blessed by knowing all of you.

Kathy, we were so sorry to hear about the loss of your precious mom. I remember her well from our days at Rose HIll. We are praying for you and your family as you celebrate her life.

I always loved my Aunt Madelyn; she was such a sweet lady and had the composure of her mother, my grandma Hanshaw. God Bless her soul.
