Vernon Lee Rice, Sr. 68, of Sheridan passed away February 12, 2019. He was born May 12, 1950 in Woodson, AR to the late Murle E. and Billie Jo ''Topsy'' Rice.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce Rice; and son, Vernon L. Rice, Jr.; his two brothers; and one sister. He is survived by his daughter, Rena McInturff (Kevin); stepchildren, Polly Ransom and David Carmon; brother, Billy Ray Rice; sister, Joyce Isom (Hubert); grandchildren, Brittney Bumgardner (Josh), Lakin Baker (Jason), Jimmie Woodard, Steven Woodard, Tiffany Ransom and Brandi Carmon; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman ,who loved the outdoors. He loved spending time with his family.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, AR 72211 with Brother Ben Jones officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Woodson Cemetery. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home.

Sorry to hear of Vernon’s passing. He was such a good friend of Larrys and mine. We had really some good times with him and Joyce. Thoughts and prayers for the family.

Rena I am so sorry about Big Vernon's passing. I always loved him and your mom, they were such fun and both had such a great sense of humor . I know him and Joyce are celebrating their reunion.
