Rebecca Jane Hunnicutt

of Little Rock, AR

June 17, 1957 - January 31, 2019

On January 31, 2019, Rebecca Hunnicutt passed away peacefully in her sleep. If you knew Beckie, you loved Beckie. Her beautiful soul filled you with warmth, and her infectious laughter charmed those who were around her.
She is preceded in death by her parents Odas and Esther Hunnicutt of Hot Springs; her cat, Ozzy; and her dog, Terra. She is survived by her brother; William Odas Hunnicutt of Hot Springs and his wife Eileen; two children, Brian Campbell of North Little Rock and his wife Martene; her daughter, Jennifer Campbell of Little Rock and her boyfriend Ryan White; and her cat, Harriett.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee, June 17, 1957, Beckie was adopted by the Hunnicutt family of Hot Springs. She often joked that Elvis Presley was her biological father and listed reasons they were alike, and because she was born during his most famous years, her biological mother must've been a groupie.
She grew up in a happy, loving, Christian home, where after church, families would fellowship together and Beckie made lifelong friends. She was proud she was a lifeguard in high school, and belonged to the dance team. The Hot Springs High Class of 1975 chant, ''We're no turkeys that's no jive. We're the class of '75!'' would often make an appearance, with stories of fun times in High School and the girls she grew up with. Anecdotes like how she ''once slept with a Dallas Cowboy'' because they were children and needed to share a bed, no funny business, sprinkled her conversation.
It was in college that Beckie's party personality bloomed. Beckie met Jerry Campbell, her husband of 25 years, at the University of Central Arkansas, and although divorced in 2002 they remained friends. Beckie and Jerry's crazy antics are not fit for publication, so only the lucky ones who were there know the truth. She graduated with an Associate's degree and began her career as a legal secretary where she made many life-long friends. Her playful spirit remained, and she would do things like toss M&Ms into the office cubicles around her. Beckie was especially proud that she worked on the Jim Guy Tucker campaign for Governor. Later she began a 23-year career at what is now the Little Rock Water Reclamation Authority.
Beckie kicked breast cancer's ass, twice! Fittingly, her favorite color was pink. A music lover, classic rock was her favorite, she would dance any time she had the opportunity.
Guaranteed to speak her mind, which was always peppered with her favorite cuss words, she was always ready to have a good time. She never met a stranger, and her sarcastic and raunchy comments began the moment you met her. Get the Miller Lite flowing and there was no stopping the fun. Your best drinking buddy, you were 100[%] guaranteed to have a fun time and her dirty mind would cause laughter you couldn't help but to join in.
Halloween was one of her favorite holidays. Beckie loved choosing a new costume every year that almost always included a handmade tutu. She looked forward to the annual Shortest St. Patrick's Day Parade in Hot Springs with a close friend.
Nothing was more important to her than her children. She was Brian and Jennifer's biggest supporter and was proud of every accomplishment. To Beckie, family was the most important. She would tell stories of her childhood with her brother, how her dad taught her how to golf, and skin a squirrel, and how her mother taught her fantastic family recipes. Using a family recipe, Beckie made dressing every holiday with her mother's pan.
During the summer, she lived on the water. Only rain could keep her away from getting as tan as she could at the pool, responsibly using SPF 5 sunscreen. In 2018, Beckie retired to live life how she always wanted to live it. She bought her dream home, where she said she wanted to spend the rest of her life. Unfortunately, that time was all too short.
To say that she will be missed is an understatement. The joy and love she had was something you could feel just by being near her. In Beckie, we lost a good time, a fabulous drinking buddy, many laughs and so much love.
Visitation will be Friday, February 8, 2019, at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home from 6-8pm. The funeral, also at Roller-Chenal will be held Saturday, February 9 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M. at Greenwood Cemetery in Hot Springs where Beckie will be laid to rest with her parents. We are grateful for flowers, however if you choose, a donation in her name to CARTI would also be appreciated.
Beckie, you were a force, a survivor, best friend, loving relative, and amazing mother. Here's to you, Beckie. We will have a Miller Lite toast in your honor. Show them how to party in heaven. IT'S MILLER TIME!

Beckie was my baby cousin. I used to baby sit her when she was a little girl. Her mother and my mother were sisters. I always loved Beckie. She's always been such a sweetie. I'm thankful that we were able to have a cousin reunion at the house in late December. It's amazing how cousins who haven't seen each other in years can walk in and start conversing as if we had seen each other yesterday. I'm still shocked about Beckie's passing, buy am comforted knowing that she's in Heaven with Jesus, Aunt Esther and Uncle Odas. I'll be thinking of Brian, Jennifer, and Bill as you go through the services. I'll see you there. Love, Cousin Janie
