Wanda Jean Davis passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, November 30, 2018 at Brightpointe in Conroe. Wanda was born December 3, 1941 in Little Rock, AR to Maxie James and Pauline Terrell Moon who preceded her in death. Upon graduation from high school, she attended UCA (formerly ASTC) in Conway, AR. She met, then later married Douglas Davis, September 1, 1962 and had one daughter, Melodee. She later resumed her studies at UCA and obtained her B.S. in education in 1968. She taught her love of art to middle school students over the years, many of whom won various awards. She retired from teaching in 1983. Wanda was not only very talented in art, she also enjoyed sewing, embroidery and raising plants. Wanda loved animals and enjoyed many pets over her lifetime. She also loved frogs, from small collectibles to large ceramic ones. Wanda was active at Spring Baptist Church in Spring, TX. She was very thoughtful and kind as she would write notes of encouragement to her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Douglas Davis of 56 years; one daughter, Melodee Jean Stewart and her husband, Philip and grandson, Justin and his wife, Ashlynn and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Roller Chenal Funeral Home Chapel, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, AR (501) 224-8300 with Reverend Gene Davis (brother-in-law) officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 14, 2018 at the funeral home.
