I served in the Air Force.
David Edward JonesI am a Veteran.

February 20, 1942 - December 8, 2018

David "Dave" Edward Jones (76) went to be with the Lord on December 8th, 2018. Dave was born on February 20, 1942 in Columbus, Ohio, to Thomas Lloyd and Loretta Anne Jones. He spent his childhood in Ohio and New Canaan, Connecticut. He came to know the Lord on a Young Life trip while in High School and after graduation attended the University of Virginia. While finishing up his degree in the School of Commerce, he married Arleen Faye Schroder and upon graduation in 1965 was commissioned into the Air Force. He served for 4 years at Pope Airforce Base as a budget officer. After leaving the Air Force, he moved with Arleen to Jacksonville, Florida to start a family and begin a career in sales. They had two sons, Christopher and Keith, and then work took them to Conroe, Texas. After a short time there, a new opportunity took their young family to Atlanta, where they lived for 5 years and welcomed their daughter, Heather. Work called again and they came full circle back to Florida where they settled in Orange Park where they lived for 33 years. There, Dave and Arleen raised all three of their children through high school graduations and into college and careers. They instilled a legacy of faith in Christ, hard work, and the value of family. Dave was an avid golfer and incorporated it with trips across the country and around the world as part of his job, often taking Arleen with him. Upon retirement from a successful career in sales, and the reality of Alzheimer's, Dave and Arleen moved to Little Rock, Arkansas to be near family. They enjoyed time in their church community, experienced holidays and good times with family, and celebrated 54 years of marriage.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Loretta and his older brother Tom. He is survived by his wife Arleen, his three children, Christopher, Keith, and Heather, and 10 grandchildren, Reagan, Maddock, and Hillyer (Christopher and wife Christina) and Bowden, Evynn, Kailyn, Ryen, Macyn, Loryn, and Morgyn (Keith and wife Natasha). Dave was a beloved and loyal son, a faithful and devoted husband, a loving and committed father, and a true friend to those that knew him. He was a man of integrity who went the extra mile to provide for his family and always look for the good in those around him.

A memorial celebration will be held Friday at 11am at Fellowship Bible Church, 1401 Kirk Road, Little Rock, AR 72223. Memorials may be made to Hospice Home Care, 2200 South Bowman, Little Rock, AR 72211 or Alzheimer's Arkansas: http://www.alzark.org/

To Arlene and the Jones Family

Heartfelt condolences on your loss. I knew David for many years and we shared a business and personal relationship during his years at Glidco/Millenium. He was a great man. He had a strong sense of fun and family and I admired his love of life. We spent many years together at the Ravines and fishing in British Columbia especially. He touched us all and he will be missed.

So sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the words spoken at Revelation 21:3,4 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away".
