He moved to Fayetteville where he met the love of his life, Susan whom he married shortly thereafter. He Graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1971.

So sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the words spoken at Revelation 21:3,4 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away".

My heart goes out to his family, and close friends. Bill touched so so many. In his relatively short time with Habitat, I saw Bill create entire neighborhoods in NLR and thereby help so many. He always had a smile on his face, was continually active in the community helping others, including other non-profits as well; his contributions will be seen by many for decades to come. Thank you Bill.

He called me his favorite Democrat. I'll take it sir. You will be missed.

Philippians 2:1-4 English Standard Version (ESV)

Christ's Example of Humility

2 So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, 2 complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. 3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Brother you spent years following the wishes of your Savior Jesus by serving others above yourself. I was so honored to be a small part of that and see firsthand the love that Habitat shows for their neighbors. We will miss your sense of humor but know too that you have been reunited with your creator and redeemer which is cause for joy! We will be praying for strength for your loved ones.

Bill was one of the best friends you could have. He was a great boss/mentor and as we started to work closely together in 1998, and beyond, he provided us with a definition for a Christian Man. Our prayers will be with Sue,
Will and Whitt and the rest of the family
God Bless

This picture of Bill is exactly the way he looked every time I saw him. He was always smiling and lifted the spirits of those of us fortunate to spend time with him. This wonderful man changed my life and I am so thankful that God let our paths cross. All of our lives are in God's hands and we never know how or when God will call His children home. It breaks our hearts to lose someone we love but in Bill's case his soul is with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We can rest in that assurance that absent from the body he is present with the Lord. I pray that God will give his family and loved ones the peace that only He can give. Amen.

Susan, even though we were not with you much, you both had such an air of familiarity and acceptance. I enjoyed seeing Bill in Church ministering to the body each Sunday. I am lifting you up, Susan, in prayer each day and I hope you will reach out and ask for anything help you need.

I learned of Bill’s passing this a.m. To Susan, Whit and Lisa, please know that his family was the focus and joy of his life. I had the privilege of working for Bill for just a few years in the early 2000’s in a telecom start-up. We operated out of separate offices but spoke on the phone daily and traveled together on many occasions. As a businessman, he was always the consummate gentlemen and professional. Being 10 years his junior, I looked to Bill for both professional and personal guidance. He was a mentor to me. He led a life of example. His faith in the Lord was his north star and guided every aspect of his life. I loved Bill Plunkett and am deeply saddened by his passing. But with sure confidence I know he is now resting eternally in the arms of the Lord. God bless you Bill for the joy you brought to our lives.

To Susan, Whit, & Lisa,
When I found out about Bill's accident we all prayed for a miracle that with love, lots of care from all the Dr's , and from all the love and prayers said for Bill we so hoped but God had other big plans for Bill. I knew Bill as a caring loving father and father-in-laws and grandfather of Whit and Sara Grace and Noah. We spent so many Christmas's all as one big family and he always had that kind smile, giving spirit and laughter. He will be so very missed. I know The Lord greated him and his body is out of pain and now he can truly know peace with our Father. We love all of you and are truly so sorry, love Dan and Kris Weber & family

Bill was one of my best friends at Acacia Fraternity and in the electrical engineering program at the University of Arkansas.I fondly remember many memorable times I spent with he and Susan. After graduating and getting married, I lost touch with he and Susan as we pursued careers in separate industries. I am confident he will be missed by many more than the members of his immediate family.

I remember at Acacia on Sunday afternoon putting Bill's car on blocks and running it reverse to get the mileage down before he checked in with his dad. A great guy , sorry it's been so long since we were last together.

Susan, Whit, and Lisa,
I am deeply sorry for your loss, Heaven's gain, in the homegoing of your beloved husband and father, Bill. Know you are covered in prayer for your comfort and peace. Bill was an amazing man with a ready smile for anyone; his sense of humor was infectious. He will be missed. I was blessed to work with him many years ago at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and to enjoy him most recently in our Community Group at church. God bless you.
