Hazel Ann Ball

of Maumelle, AR

March 22, 1941 - November 1, 2018

HAZEL ANN BALL, 77, of Maumelle, went to be with the Lord on November 1, 2018, peacefully surrounded by her family. Hazel fought a courageous battle to survive and died from injuries sustained in a car accident. She was born in Eudora, AR on March 22, 1941, to the late Jesse and Alene (Stephenson) Ball.

Hazel is survived by two brothers, Dempsey (Renee) Ball of Georgia and Donald (Johnnie) Ball, of Louisiana; a sister, Virginia (Charles) Stutts of Sherwood. She is also survived by nephews and nieces, Jimmy Tubbs of Louisiana, Robin Dyer of Georgia, Cindy Alba of California, Charlie Stutts, Jr, of Maumelle, Teddy Ball of Texas, Suzi Gower of Georgia, Scott Stutts of Sherwood and Steven Ball of Georgia. Hazel was also a loving great aunt to twelve great nephews and nieces.

In her professional career of real estate, Hazel was known to all as Ann Ball. She was President/CEO of Bankers Asset Management and Executive Broker of Crye-Leike Realtors Financial Centre Branch. Ann began her career in 1972 in Dallas, TX owning several real estate offices throughout the years. She formed Ball Asset Management, a full service REO Asset Management firm located in Dallas, TX in 1992. Ann relocated her business to Little Rock, AR in 1998. In 2003, she formed an alliance with Lisa Crye, of Crye-Leike Realtors, creating Bankers Asset Management, a woman-owned and woman-managed REO asset management company specializing in the default servicing industry handling the disposition of foreclosed properties nationwide.

Ann had overcome many challenges and hardships throughout the years to achieve her success. One of the main challenges Ann had to overcome was being a woman in business back in the early 1970s. During that time, there were broad stereotypes and discrimination against women being leaders in real estate and the default servicing industry. Over the decades, Ann saw noticeable improvement on that front but still felt more progress could be made. Another major challenge for Ann over the years had been a multitude of health issues and she was most grateful to be a cancer survivor. In spite of numerous challenges, Ann had always stepped up to the plate to ensure her businesses were running smoothly and that all of her Clients needs were being met consistently.

Hazel loved the Lord and Savior deeply and was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church Maumelle. Hazel was a long-term member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 35 years. She was a devoted member of the Back to Basics Group which meet on Friday evenings in Maumelle. She loved to sponsor women in need and shared her experience, strength and hope in order for them to live productive and successful lives.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to First Baptist Church Maumelle or to the AA Central Office, 7509 Cantrell Rd, #106, Little Rock, AR 72207.

To Hazel's family: I am so sorry for your loss. I would like to thank you for sharing the beautiful video. I am blessed to have grown up with all of you...Virginia, Charles, Dempsey and Hazel Ann...We had a lot of good times and fun growing up on Mabry Street in Eudora. Your mom was the sweetest. I know the loss of Hazel has been a terrible time for all of you...so I pray God will be with you during this difficult time in your lives. My love to all of you....Sue Ann Searcy Warren -

To the Ball Family, Ann was very important to me and literally changed my life. She told me I was the son she never had, and we had a good relationship. I had just spoken with her a few days before the accident. I loved Ann so much and know this is a true loss. I will keep the entire family in my prayers and ask that the Lord give you all peace. Ann was very unique, and one of the most respected people in my life. To Ann: I love you and will miss you greatly for the rest of my days.
