John Benton Naylor

of Little Rock, AR

January 3, 1936 - November 1, 2018

John Benton Naylor was born January 3, 1936 to the late Charles and Clara Naylor, went home to be with our heavenly Father November 1, 2018. John graduated from Cayuga High in Indiana in 1954, and went on to spend 4 years in the US Army. He was stationed to the 501st Infantry Regiment and was a paratrooper for the 101st Airborne Division. Once he left the military, he began working in the insurance industry where he built a name and a reputation for himself. He moved to Arkansas in 1972 where he continued to work in the insurance industry and later went on to start his own thriving business.

John was very accomplished at many things and had a very giving personality. He contributed his career knowledge and experiences for an insurance industry textbook used at the University of Arkansas. He worked with organizations such as: Carti, 4-H, Lion's, Jaycees, and many others. He enjoyed spending time with his family whether it was traveling with his siblings, watching his grandchildren compete in rodeos, or mentoring them on ways to succeed in life. He loved the outdoors and many of his travels involved getting outside like hunting elk in Colorado, taking a cruise to Alaska, and attending the Masters. One thing about John is no matter who he was with or what situation he was in he would always be at ease and comfortable in who he was.

He is preceded in death by his spouse of 28 years, Janice ''Toni'' Naylor; parents; three brothers; Harlan, Marvin, and Merle; three sisters; Ada Jane, Mary Lou and Barbara.

He will be missed by; three children; Kuba Gordon(Neal), Johanna ''Toni Jo'' Finkbeiner(Chris), and Cory Naylor(Tesa); thirteen grandchildren; BJ Gordon(Kim), Chasity Taylor(Matt), Christian Finkbeiner(Ashley), Pamela Truemper(Zack), Candice Alciato Botta(Davide), Nicholas Finkbeiner, Dylan Finkbeiner, Ali Finkbeiner, Tristan Naylor, Laney Ford, Lensey Ford, Logan Naylor, and Macee Naylor; eleven great-grandchildren; Breeann, CJ, and Samantha Taylor; Jude, Elim, Donnie Grace, and Psalm Gordon; Zachary II, Jade, and Wayne Truemper; Isla Finkbeiner.

Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Monday, November 5, 2018, Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, Little Rock, Arkansas. (501)224-8300. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at the funeral home chapel with burial to follow at Pinecrest Cemetery.

Dear Family of John
My brother, Marvin, sister, Martha, and I grew up with John, living close by on Indiana farms. Johnnie was our first cousin - his mother, Clara, was my mother's older sister. Perhaps needless to say we were as close as brothers, having lots of fun together and sometimes getting in trouble together.
Johnnie and I played football together at CHS, but he graduated a year ahead of me going into the Army paratroopers out of high school and our ways parted, as life takes us in different directions. John was a caring person; one time we met up in a Memphis hospital where Martha's daughter, Julie, had just had brain surgery. Since that time our paths crossed only briefly, and like many, at funerals.
I am sorry for your loss and know Johnnie is missed greatly.
Lots of Cousinly love,
Richard

So sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the words spoken at Revelation 21:3,4 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away".

So sorry to hear of the passinf of Uncle Johnny. I know my Grandma Mary loved him dearly. I recently had some conversations with him over the telephone after my grandmas passing and I am very happy I got to talk to him. He was a very nice man every time I seen him when he would come to visit. Now he is reunited with his loved ones in heaven. Prayers to his children and many grandchildren. Until we meet again Uncle Johnny, love you
