I always like talking to Ronnie when he would bring his vehicle to West-Hornor Motor Co. in Helena,Arkansas for some service. He really love his El Camino. I will miss his smile. May God give the family peace and comfort at this time. Thank you Lord for Ronnie.

My first memory of Mr. Fess was of him flying a crop duster over my head as I was walking home from first grade. Scared the living daylights out of me and my friend Odis Green. But as I grew older I went to work with him flagging planes. As we'd sometimes hop in one of his El Caminos and drive the dirt roads of Arkansas we'd talk for hours. He was more of a father-like figure as my natural father wasnt around much. Before long I was driving 3000lb auger trucks and filling the hopper of planes and running back and forth from field to field whether it was rice, cotton or soybean. I still cherish those moments of my adolescence as I've never forgotten some of the advice he gave me and some of the work habits instilled in me. Aome mornings I'd be up at 4am so we could catch the early morning air while it was at a standstill. We'd work until 9 at night on some occasions but I was all in because I enjoyed being around him and most importantly he paid me good.Lol. Seriously the best piece of advice he gave me was when I was debating where to go to college. I had quite a few choices and schools had been contacting me but I couldnt make up my mind. In one particular conversation he had with me we talked about what it takes to be successful. I'll never forget him looking me square in the eye and saying "son you dont have to go to college to be successful, if you work hard and do the right things with whatever it is you choose to do you'll be successful in your own right." Of course I went on to college but that bit of insight left an indelible impression on me because here was an successful adult who I looked up to that made me aware that there was more in life that a person could do, outside of the norm and still live and lead a rewarding and fulfilling life. I lost touch with him over the years but recently connected with his daughter Glo(who i have found memories of from coming into the hangar when we were kids) and was so ecstatic to find out he was alive and living in Hot Springs. So I've kept up with him that way these last few years. Its given me comfort and a sense of pride knowing I knew where he was and what he was doing although I hadnt been able to go see him. Sadly I wont get that chance now but he will never, ever leave.my consciousness or my soul. I am who I am because of him taking an interest in a young boy from rural Elaine, Arkansas. Godspeed Harold "Ronnie" Fess and until we meet again fly high in heaven sir. Love you more than you know!
Glo I am very sorry to hear of your dads passing. But like you say, hes in a better place so let this give you and the family a measure of peace and comfort that hes being taken care of and you no longer fret about how hes doing. Love always, Charlie...

I met Mr. Fess at Good Shepherd Rehab and Nursing home a couple years ago. He soon become a regular during my visits with my Mother, Eloise Copeland. They became good friends and pretty much where you found one, the other was very near by. I appreciate the friendship he shared with Mother and I know that she will miss his presence greatly. Mr. Fess shared many stories with us during our visits. I am praying for your family during this loss. Mr. Fess will be missed!

Dear Fess family. I am so sorry to have read of the death of Harold. Please accept my sincere condolences. I would like to share something that I have personally found to be comforting. It is found in the Bible at John 5:28, 29 and Revelation 21:4. (Please read) May God give you and your family comfort in His promise that soon we will never experience losing our loved ones in death and we will be able to see them again once they are resurrected. With deepest sympathy and warmth of heart.
