Mary A. Jackson

of Little Rock, AR

August 13, 1922 - May 7, 2018

Mary Anna Allman Jackson, age 95, of Little Rock, Arkansas joined her Lord and loved ones in Heaven on Monday, May 7, 2018. Mary Anna was born on August 13, 1922 in Hot Springs, AR to the late James Ivy and Anna Allman. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, James and George. She is survived by her daughters Jacqulin Ann Dicus, Janet Gail Winkler (Francis), and Brenda Joy Swindell (Raymond). She was a loving Gram to her grandchildren, Tony Allman Dicus, Matthew Stephen Winkler, Ashley Renee' Dicus and James Raymond Swindell.

Mary Anna graduated from Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in 1943 and dedicated her life to the field of nursing for over 50 years. She was responsible for the development and accreditation of the first LPN Program at Baptist Hospital. She served as the Director of that program from 1966 to 1978. After leaving Baptist she worked at Children's Hospital as Director of Staff Development until retirement in 1987. Not letting the grass grow under her feet for long she returned to nursing in 1994 to work for Baptist Home Health where she retired for a second time in 2007.

Gram always said that her life was devoted to her God, her girls and her grandchildren but we all know that she was just as passionate about her Razorbacks. She was a #1 fan.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, AR. Celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 11:00 am at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home with graveside services at Greenwood Cemetery in Hot Springs, AR at 3:00 p.m.

So sorry for your loss may you find peace and comfort in the words spoken at
2 Corinthians 1:3 & 4" Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort,  who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God
