Hila Weathers Ruminer, age 96 of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away peacefully on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Good Shepherd Retirement Center. She was born on July 14, 1921 in Larkin, Arkansas to her late parentís Marcus Hayden Weathers and Estille Campbell. Hila was a bookkeeper for MM Cohn retail store for well over 30 years. After retirement, she worked for her sonís studio, Joelís House of Dance. In addition, she truly loved her church, Asbury United Methodist Church, was the official Chaperone for the Miss Arkansas Pageantís, and loved attending Murryís Dinner Playhouse.
She is preceded in death by Jack Borden Ruminer and one son, Joel Ruminer. She is survived by two nephews, Paul Rackley, Jr. of New York, NY and Michael Collie (Susan); two nieces, Janet Lee and Peggy Row (Ray) and many dear friends including Tami Koeneman of Little Rock and Scott Drikakis of Minnesota.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 in the chapel of Roller Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, AR 72211 (501) 224-8300. Reverend Mary Hilliard will officiate. Hila will be reunited with her son during a private entombment at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
