Our family has fond thoughts of Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings filled with fun stories and much laughter. We find solace that Aunt Hila is now with Joel, Big Mama, and Winn where they can share more stories and laughter as they watch over the rest of our family. You will be missed.

Ms. Hila, you were loved by many, mom to many, nana to even more. I know it's been hard without Joel, but now you will always be together. Loved you to the moon and back, the Ruminer family will forever be a part of our family!

So saddened to hear of Mrs. Ruminer's passing and treasure all my memories of her and Joel at dancing over the years and also neighborhood walks with her and my boys along with my mom and Eloise. I know the year my cousin was Miss Arkansas Hila and my family had such a good time in New Jersey and New York. She was a special person who deeply loved her son and he loved and treasured her! Now you two are once again back together again!

What a sad note to learn from the newspaper of the death of Hila. Although separated by distance, she always “love seeing the Perryman’s” when my brothers and I were in town. As part of my grandmother’s family, she and Joel were always a special part of our lives. My comfort is in that she and Joel are reunited and dancing.
A big thank you to those of you who showered her with love through the years and were able to attend to her better than I. She will be missed but her memory is cherished.

Ms. R, you were my Arkansas Mom. Me and my son are glad to have been part of your and Joel's life.

You touched the lives of all the exchange students that sat with you during services, ate doughnuts and drank orange juice with you after the church service and visited you at Good Shepherd. I am glad that they were able to bring you some happiness and how you affected them. They told me they miss you but know you are in a better place.

Rest in peace, Ms. R

I met Hila at Good Shepard and I feel blessed to have known her. She was beautiful inside and out and always classy. She would NOT miss church services for any reason.
Her love for her son, Joel was obvious and he loved her right back. When Joel died nearly 2 years ago, I didn't think she would live a month without him. I just hadn't met Renata, Joel's friend and co-worker. From the day Joel passed, Renata filled her life with so much love and caring that Hila not only survived, but flourished. She had to move to the nursing home, but with her own spunkiness and Renata's care, she did just fine.

96 and 1/2 years on earth is a splendid run. Now she goes to Heaven. I will never forget her.

We are very sorry to learn of Mrs. Hilas passing.
She was a true sweetheart! After the death of her beloved son, her last year was filled with love from Renata Byler and her family. While Renata was out of town, we went to see her several times. She seemed pleased to see us but always wanted to know where Renata was and wanted to know about dinner! She Loved to eat. Another story...we had to take Mrs. Hila to ER and we sat with her at the hospital. Every one knew and loved Mrs. Hila. It was like being with a ROCKSTAR. Give your sweet son Joel a big hug from us.
