Larry Gene Patterson, 74, of Greers Ferry, AR passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2019. He was born in Quitman, AR on August 24, 1944 the son of the late George Herlie Patterson and Ruby Alma Mobley Patterson.
Larry was a loving son, brother, and father. He was a 32 ½ year veteran of the Arkansas State Police and Chief of Police at Quitman for four years. He was a Mason in West Memphis and a loyal member of the Kaley Hill Missionary Baptist and a patriot to his country.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Morris Patterson, Jack Patterson, and Gerald Patterson.
Larry is survived by his daughter, Paige Carman of Sherwood and her husband Syd Carman, three grandsons, Tyler Carman, Jeremy Carman and Connor ''Rooster'' Carman, sisters, Betty Rowlett of Rogers and husband Wilson Rowlett, and Carolyn Rothwell and husband Richard Rothwell of Quitman. Larry is also survived by many other relatives and a great number of so many wonderful friends.
The Lord has given me a wonderful ride on this Earth. Thank you, my Lord and Savior, Larry
Visitation will be from 6pm to 8pm Friday, June 21st at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier. Funeral services will be held at 10am Saturday at the Funeral Home with burial following at Kaley Hill Cemetery in Quitman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kaley Hill Missionary Baptist Church or to the Kaley Hill Cemetery.
I worked with Larry for several years at ASP Governor’s Security. We had many laughs and good times together in and out of work. You will be missed.
Larry was a wonderful friend. I will miss his laugh and friendship. God has given peaceful rest to a man who served and gave of himself for others. He was always ready to share a joke and spend time with friends. He will be so missed!

Larry I am so very sad for the loss that your family is feeling at this time. I am so glad to have known you thru all these years since we graduated in 1964. It was really good to see you at class reunions and sharing our memories. You are now with our Lord and I will see you at the best reunion of all. Prayers for all your family and friends.

Never a dull minute being around Larry. He was always joking and had a smile on his face. Many memories working with him at ASP. My thoughts and prayers are with Paige, his three Grandsons and the rest of his beloved family and friends. Rest in Peace Larry
