Voisy Maxine Perkins (Mullenax) Heathcott, 93, of Conway, AR, went to be with the Lord, Monday, November 11, 2019. She was born January 28, 1926, in Ratcliff, AR, to the late Clarence E. and Esther (Ostendorf) Perkins. Voisy was preceded in death by her first husband, D.E. "Boe" Mullenax; her second husband, Gwendol Heathcott; her brother, Clarence W. "Sonny" Perkins; her daughter, Janis Roper of Charleston, and an infant brother.

Voisy grew up in Paris, AR. Her father was transferred to the Conway area when she was a teen. Voisy graduated Mayflower High School in 1943. Afterwards she began working at Conway Hospital and later at the Paris Hospital as a nurse. She returned to the Conway Hospital when she met her husband Boe.

Boe and Voisy were married in 1945. They lived and farmed in Saltillo, AR, during their early marriage. Voisy worked at International Shoe Company for several years. Later she worked in downtown Conway at Simon's grocery as a cashier. Then in 1987, she married Gwendol Heathcott, an old school friend from Paris and returned to the Paris Area to live. They resided in Charleston, AR, where she gained 2 daughters from this marriage. Gwendol and Voisy traveled extensively after retirement. Charleston senior center became a daily routine. Quilting, bingo and playing cards were her favorite pastime with her friends. She attended Charleston First Freewill Baptist Church with her family.

Voisy was a loving mother and grandmother to her children. She loved family meals and family get-togethers. She always cooked her kid's favorite pecan pie and pound cake.

I will always cherish all the times we spent together as a family and will never forget the many times that her and Papaw would fill us with joy and laughter! Us kids always felt so much love and appreciation from them. I know we will meet again one day in Heaven and have many more stories to tell and laughs to share!

I was blessed to call this amazing woman “Grandma” for as long as I can remember. And she sure did make my Papaw a happy fellow! Grandma Voisy made holidays extra special and knew all of our favorite treats...mine were her sugar cookies! I will never forget her laughter and the way she would say “oh Gwendol” when Papaw was being ornery. She taught me a lot of things and was on speed dial when I became a new mother. I’m thankful for her great advice and that I was lucky enough to be a part of her big family.

Grandma Voisy was such a blessing to our family. I will always have fond memories of hanging out with her and Grandpa at their house...even with that silly whistling monkey she hated so much. :) It was always so warm and comfortable and smelled like pies baking.
All our sympathies to the Mullenax family, so sorry for your loss. I know she loved you all dearly.

Voisy was a wonderful woman. During her marriage to my dad, Gwendol Heathcott, I enjoyed watching her love him, laugh with him, keep him straight, and stay by his side like none other. I was, and will always be grateful for the joy, fun, and loving times she brought into my dad's life. He loved her with all of his heart.
Voisy was always loving and kind to me and my sister, Janis. She was giving and selfless. Her pecan pies were the best ever, and she always made one at family dinners.... just for me. I loved you, Voisy, and always will. Your faith was such an encouragement to me. I know you are rejoicing with our Lord, and I will rest in that peace.
My deepest sympathy and love to James and Charlene, Mark and Gayle, and the entire Mullenax family. Your loss is great, but the blessings she brought to you were immense.
