No one but Max cut my hair since 1987. He became my friend and I will miss his wit, his perpetual good cheer and his skill at his work. Although I am sad that he is not with us, I am glad that he has opened his eternal shop with Jesus and right now is in perfect health, as he will be forever. Max is one of God’s faithful servants.

PS: I don’t know if I can ever trust anyone else with my gray locks!! Maybe I’ll never get another trim! Thanks so much, Max, for your character and friendship.

I was long term customer of Max and Vickie. Every time I went for a trim at Country Gentleman I left feeling like one. They were a fabulous team, Max expertly making me look better than I deserved and Vickie always ready to share a joke or a story about the family she loves so much. I will miss them both. We were from very different backgrounds, but connected in our brief times together. Love and Peace, Ian King.

Brenda & Family,
My condolences & prayers are with each of you during this time. I first met Max in 1976 when I moved to Conway to attend UCA. With only a few exceptions Max cut my hair until his passing even though I lived out of state for a time. I'd always try and arrange my trips back to Arkansas to schedule a haircut with Max. As I reflect back on my friendship with him the things that will always stand out were his concern for others and his love our LORD. Many times I saw him stop to pray over an individual facing various challenges while he was cutting their hair. His mission field was his shop and each individual that entered it's doors. I feel so fortunate that I had the privilege of knowing him and being able to call him my friend

Max you are a great man and the 1st person to cut my hair and continued to cut it for 50 years until your health started to fail you. It's kinda crazy I saw Vickie at the CRMC that day. You had just be admitted the same day as my grandma, you were both on the 3rd floor just a few rooms apart. Then today as I look on this site to see my grandma (Lona Robinson) I see you too. Oddly enough that's her on the other side of the Lord as ya'll walk together free of pain. God's angels picked you both up on 11/05/2019 on the same floor on the same day after being admitted within hours of each other. I know your son and wife are hurting at this time. But I only hope it gives them peace that you are hurting no more. And that you are cutting the hair of all Gods children now.To the Henry family I feel your pain. You have truly lost a great man, friend, husband and father. Until you meet again just remember that he walks with the Lord now....! Mickey G.

We are so saddened by the passing of Max. Max has cut both of our boys' hair for the past 20 years. He always had a story to tell or a topic to be discussed during every haircut. Max was truly "one of the good guys" and will be missed by so many. Downtown Conway will never be he same without him. Praying for peace for his family as well as for Vicki during this very difficult time.
