Anna Faye Harmon

of Conway, AR

June 18, 1942 - September 24, 2019

Anna Faye Harmon, 77, of Conway, AR, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, September 24, 2019. She was born June 18, 1942, in Greenbrier, AR, to the late Carlton and Pearl (Mount) Dorough. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Betty Dorough.

Anna was a faith-filled, lifetime member of Antioch Baptist Church in Conway. She devoted her life to the Lord and her family. In leading a Godly life, she made it her mission to bring her children and grandchildren to the Lord. Anna was a nurturing, caring woman, who brought comfort to all those she came in contact with. For 30+ years she worked as a secretary for Conway Public Schools. In being, the selfless woman she was, her happiness was knowing and helping to cultivate others' happiness. Among her many talents, she was a wonderful seamstress and she played the piano for her church and could sing beautifully. Anna leaves behind a legacy of love and will be missed by her friends and family, who lovingly remember her smile and warm hugs.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving family; her husband of 58 years, J.D. Harmon; sons, Derek Harmon (Sharon), Doug Harmon (Terri) and Dodd Harmon (Christie); grandchildren, Josh (Heather), Emili, Abbi, Presley and Price Harmon and Rachel Keller; great-grandchildren, Cayden, Brantley, Townes and Margaret.

Special thank you to her caregiver, Mrs. Melissa Hight and her staff for all the love and support throughout this time.

In lieu of flowers family asks that donations be made to the Hight House (hospice facility), 1313 Hillcrest Street, Conway, AR, 72034.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00pm, Saturday, September 28, 2019, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Funeral service will be at 1:00pm, Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Roller-McNutt with interment to follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Conway.

May you find comfort in your good memories of Anna. Her smile and her sparkle were contagious. She was one of the first faces many parents and children of Conway Public Schools saw at school. I was blessed to have worked with her. Her joy lives on in the family she cared for so much.

J. D. and family, We are so saddened to learn of Anna's passing. We are actually feeling sorry for ourselves, for we will miss her smiling face around the church--in the music of the church and the Prime Life activities. We have already missed her beautiful alto voice in Gene's old-time Gospel Singing group at the Conway Senior Center. She was a faithful member until she became sick. We know that Anna is in the presence of her Lord and there is no better place to be. We know you will all miss her so very much. You have our love and prayers for God's comfort.

So sorry for the loss of Mrs. Anna. We loved her warm smile and hugs. In addition to seeing her at church, Jana enjoyed working with her when she was secretary at Vann Elementary. Jay's mom and Dad, Opie and Ruby Hefner, thought so much of her and your family. You will all be in our prayers during this difficult time.

Dear Harmon Family:
Ms. Anna belonged to our State Secretary group, AAEOP for many, many years. We loved her dearly and hope that you and your family find comfort in knowing that she was a special, one of a kind lady that cared for so many others. AAEOP awarded her the Martha Lou Davis Distinquished Service Award in 2016, the highest distinquished award our association gives. I know I am a better person for having known her and watched her carry herself with much pride and grace through all the years I was blessed to know her.
