Mary Adelaide Rossi Hiegel

of Conway, AR

July 30, 1928 - June 9, 2019

Born July 30, 1928, in Little Rock, Mary Adelaide Rossi Hiegel, of Conway, the unofficial historian of St. Joseph Parish and the co-record keeper of the Hiegel family, passed away June 9, 2019; with the love of her life and husband of 72 years, Alphonse ''Al'', by her side.

Mary's 90 years of adventures traversed six continents, 50 states, 99 basketball gyms and every other sports venue that could fit into 70 years of kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. She loved the L.A. Dodgers, the Arkansas Travelers, and the St. Joseph Bulldogs. She was an avid reader, a member of the St. Joseph Christian Ladies and Senior Saints. Mary was the server of countless funeral meals for grieving families. Her strong devotion to her Catholic faith was established by her loving parents and cultivated in her early education at Mount St. Mary's in Little Rock before becoming an alumni of St. Joseph High School in 1945. Her countless years of faithful attendance at weekly school and Sunday Mass inspired many. In 70 years, she never missed a birthday card for her 3 children, Mary Ann (Paul) Tipton, Philip (Janet) Hiegel, or Jerry (Cindy) Hiegel, her 14 grandkids, or 31 great-grandkids. Her memory was incredible. She is preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Annie Rossi, and is survived by her beloved sister, Patricia Woodson of Dardanelle, in addition to her large extended family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday June 13, 2019 at 10:30AM at St, Joseph Catholic Church, Conway, AR. A rosary with visitation following will be on Wednesday June 12, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church starting at 6:30PM. Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Dr. John Smith, Dr. Lander Smith, Conway Regional Medical Center 3rd floor and Salem Place Nursing and Rehab. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St Joseph Endowment, P.O. Box 72, Conway, AR, 72033 or at www.sjse.org.
