Denny, Thank you for your service from a fellow soldier. I have known not only Denny, but the whole Epperson family. I just loved his Mom and Dad. To Bobby and Donna, I am thinking of you. Denny will be greatly missed for the loved ones left behind but you will see him one day. That is the amazing thing. I was stationed at Pine Bluff Arsenal back in early 70's and Denny showed up at the orderly room one day in uniform and I believe he was seeking information of reassignment at the time. We had a good conversation. I saw him one more time in Morrilton after that. The Lord be with the family and thank you Lord for Denny Epperson. He was a good man and friend.

THE SOLDIERS GRAVE
BY PEARL RIVERS

Tread lightly, 'tis a soldiers grave,
A lonely, mossy mound;
And yet to hearts like mine and thine
It should be holy ground.

Speak softly, let no careless laugh,
No idle, thoughtless jest,
Escape your lips where sweetly sleeps
The hero in his rest.

For him no reveille will beat
When morning beams shall come;
For him, at night, no tattoo rolls
Its thunders from the drum.

Tread lightly! for a man bequeathed,
Ere laid beneath this sod,
His ashes to his native land,
His gallant soul to God

Judy and family,

My heart is saddened by the loss of Denny. He was my good friend for several years and former fellow officer at Conway PD. The last time I saw him and visited with him was last year at a restaurant. He always greeted you with a smile and a firm hand shake. While he will be sorely missed, I am certain that he is with our Father in Heaven, and has a new body. RIP my dear friend. I will miss you buddy.

Until then Denny rests peacefully

As I write this message my thoughts and emotions are flowing everywhere throughout my mind. Denny and I walked many paths together and will again in the here after. We were not just cousins, we were best friends for life. We had our ups and downs, but our love for each other never wavered. My prayers go out to Judy and her family, Denny II and his family and his sister and brother Donna and Bobby. Rest in Peace my dear cousin!

Denny was the best. Always cheerful and he gave you a lift just talking to him. I went to Denny to get guidance on filling out my VA benefit claim, as he helped so many other Vietnam vets. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Epperson family.

His last breath on earth was his first breath with Jesus. I know he’s busy reuniting with those who went before him. He’s walking side by side with Jesus on two good legs. We never say goodbye to a brother in Christ. So with that in mind I’ll simply say...see you after while my friend. Mike Hopper Conway PD-retired.
