of Mayflower, AR
December 1, 1948 - December 5, 2018
Roger Rex Stover, Sr., 70, of Mayflower, AR, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 5, 2018. He was born December 1, 1948 in Pasadena, CA to the late Rollie Ray and Berniece Florence (Bellm) Stover. Rex was also preceded in death by his brothers, Reginald Earl Kelley of Arlington, WA and Wayne Kelley of Salt Lake City, UT.
Rex proudly served in the United States Marines from 1966-1968 with a tour of duty in Vietnam in the 1st Marine Division FMF, 7th Engineer Battalion. He received a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and a Rifle Marksman's Badge. He devoted his life to his family. He enjoyed decorating for Christmas and even dressed up as Santa Clause for all the children. He loved to watch Nascar and listen to Elvis sing. Rex was loved very much by his friends and family, who will dearly miss Rex's swagger, he was particularly proud of his long hair and beard.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving family, his wife of 39 years, Cynthia (Lasley) Stover; sons, Roger Rex Stover, Jr. of Highland, CA and Spencer W. Stover of Eagle Rock, MO; grandchildren, Graham Stover of Highland, CA, Claire Stover of Highland, Ca, Taylor Nardi of Conway, AR, and Madison Stover of Siloam Springs, AR.
Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Mayflower Cemetery in Mayflower, AR.
