Gary Louis Pruitt, 73 of Lamar, passed away Friday, March 6, 2020 in Clarksville. Mr. Pruitt was born October 10, 1946 in Little Rock to Mr. James Lee and Margaret (Konnings) Pruitt. He is preceded in death by his parents and aunts.
Gary served our Nation in the United States Navy. He retired after 35 years from Remington Arms as a shot shell planner, he served as a president for Johnson County Cattleman's Association, and a member of the United Methodist Church in Clarksville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodwork and was a farmer. Gary loved Lionel Trains and Christmas; he was known for his elaborate Christmas Village. He loved his wife and his family and spending time with them.
Mr. Pruitt is survived by his wife of 51 years Mary (Bacchus)Pruitt of the home; two daughters: Lee Ann (Charles) Yates of Lamar and Gina (Greg) Starling of Paragould; three grandchildren: Ella Starling, Carter Starling, and Tanner Yates; one sister, Jim-O-Lee McCaghren of Sherwood and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Monday March 9, 2020 at the Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at Roller-Cox Funeral Home, with Bro. David Henshaw officiating. Burial will follow in the Holman Cemetery with Greg Starling, Charles Yates, Travis McCaghren, Jay McCaghren, Terry Cromer, and Ronnie Zachary serving as pallbearers.
