February 23, 1936  -  September 12, 2018

Britton J. Pruitt, Jr., 82, of Russellville, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, in Russellville, AR. Britton (Britt) was born February 23, 1936, in Wink, Texas, to Britton J. Pruitt, Sr., and Martha Josephine (Bette) Thomas Pruitt. Britt married his high school sweetheart, Doris Ann Voegele, in 1955, and served in the Army before earning his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Ouachita Baptist University in 1968. He was ordained as a Baptist minister and found his calling in caring for adults with developmental disabilities at the Arkansas Children's Colony Adult Unit in Booneville. After retirement, Britt and Doris spent many years involved in the River Valley Arts and Crafts Club, where Britt served as President. He was known for his quick wit and mischievous sense of humor. Britt and Doris never met a stranger, and their home was known as a welcoming haven for anyone in need.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Britton J. Pruitt, Sr., and Martha Josephine (Bette) Thomas Pruitt, and his sister, Myra Helen Kalil. Britt is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doris Ann Voegele Pruitt, of Russellville; daughters, Theresa Holland and husband Phillip Holland, Judi Berkau and husband Jim Berkau; grandchildren, Clifford Reinhardt and wife Latisha Reinhardt, Jason Reinhardt, Leeanne Holland and fiancé Mikey Davis, Grace Bennett and husband Jordan Bennett, Isaac Berkau, and Audrey Berkau; great grandchildren, Makya, Jaeda, Alana, Zaiden, Zahara, and Scarlett.
