Joy was a faithful servant member of Matthew Road Baptist Church of Grand Prairie, Texas, where she served in the women's ministry, mentoring, teaching and leading women's Bible studies and Sunday School. She also enjoyed serving in the children's ministry.

Joy was an avid reader and loved to quilt and sew, garden, and vacation at the beach. One of her greatest joys was traveling to visit her children and grandchildren. While it has been awhile since I saw your mom, I do remember what a sweet and kind lady she was, from the times I was at your house as a teenager to later years at church. I know she will be missed dearly. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Ms. Joy was such a sweet lady! When we started going to Matthew Road in 2011, she was one of the first people I met there. She always had a smile on her face and a hug to give. I haven’t seen her in quite awhile, but I will miss her. Praying for her family and friends.

Karen, Russell, Susan and Kim,

We were so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. She was such a lovely person and will be missed by all who knew her. I'm sure she is having a grand reunion with Papa, Nanny, George, Ruth, your dad, and my dad.

May her memories ever be sweet. May God keep and hold you all in his arms.

love,
