March 23, 1917 - July 17, 2019

Arthur C. Moore, age 102, of Benton, AR formerly of Selmer, TN passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Heartland Nursing Home in Benton. He was born March 23, 1917 in Bethel Springs, Tennessee to the late Wess and Minnie Lou Moore. He was originally a farmer and then worked and retired from Brown Shoe Company in Selmer. He moved to Benton, AR in 2004 to be near his son. While in Benton he attended First Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Alice Moore; one grandson, Tony Moore; three brothers, and three sisters.

He is survived by his son, Gene Moore and wife, Phyllis Griffis Moore of Benton; his grandsons, Scott Moore (Debbi) of St. Louis, MO; Kevin Moore (Lori) of Martinsville, IN; and Casey Phillips of Benton: sister, Virginia Davidson of Batavia, IA; five great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2019 in the chapel of Shackelford Funeral Home in Selmer, TN with Bros. Donald Goodrum and Aaron Moss officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Hill Memorial Gardens.

A time of visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening, July 19th, at the funeral home.

The family would like to express thanks to the staff of Heartland Nursing Home for their tender care over the last four years.
