May 19, 1930 - April 8, 2019

Joyce V. Shelnut, age 88, of Benton passed into the loving arms of her Savior on Monday, April 8, 2019. She was born May 19, 1930 in Bauxite to Royce E. and Luda Corina Floyd Burks.
Joyce was a very loving, Christian woman. She was an outstanding mother who loved her children dearly. Cooking and crossword puzzles were two of her most favorite hobbies and she excelled at both. You could very often find her watching the Game Show Network, engaged in whatever game show was on at the time. Her memory will be forever cherished and her legacy will continue on through her family and many others who loved her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, JT Shelnut; an infant brother, and one daughter, Linda Hutchison.
Joyce is survived by her three sons, Mitchell Shelnut and his wife, Gayla, Marc Shelnut and his wife, Tanya, Joey Shelnut and his wife, Lisa; one daughter, Sheila Yates and her husband, Dan; twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, numerous great-great-grandchildren, and other extended family members and friends.
A Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2019 at Fairplay Missionary Baptist Church, 8516 Fairplay Road, with Marc Shelnut and Pastor Kenny Mitchell officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home, 306 S. Main Street, from 6-8 p.m. Before the service, the family will be at 6118 Pointview Road, Benton, AR 72015. Per Joyce's request, please dress casually for the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Joyce's name to either Fairplay Missionary Baptist Church or Saline Memorial Hospice, 23157 1-30 Frontage Road, Bryant, AR 72022.
Special and sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff at Saline Memorial Hospice House.

"That otherJoyce",as we referred to each other, was one of the dearest friends I ever had. When we were both able, I loved going over to her house. In the spring or summer we would sit out in the yard and drink tea and never ran out of talk! After I quit driving I never got to go see her again, but I will always have those sweet memories!

I am sorry to hear of Ms Joyce's passing. I do know she is very happy where she is now. She would always wear the perfume "Beautiful" and I would remark how good it smelled. She told me her girls bought it for her at Christmas. We are sorry that we can't come to her funeral but I have a procedure Friday at Heart Hospital. We will keep all the family in our prayers.

May you find peace and strength during this time. Your Mother and Dad were always special people. As kids we always felt we had so many parents, yours were in that group. Just know that her memories will live on. May God provide you peace and understanding during this time
