Sammy L. Nix, 85, of Hot Springs died August 25, 2012 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Mr. Nix was retired from the Arkansas Power and Light Company, a member of First Baptist Church in Hot Springs and former Commander of the American Legion, Post 4 of Forrest City.
Survivors include his wife, Selma Nix of Hot Springs; sons, Gary Nix (Gert) of Hot Springs and Glenn Nix (Rebecca) of Charleston, MO; grandchildren, Natalie, Lee, Ginger and Zach and great grandchildren, Tessa, Marley, Bella, Luca, Sam and Lily. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Evie Alice Nix; sister, Val; and brothers, Leslie, Shannon, Orville and Ralph.
Visitation will be from 11:30 till 12:30 Wednesday August 29, 2012 at Roller Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis. Graveside service will follow at 1:00 PM at Crittenden Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the Disabled Veterans National Foundation.

I just heard about Sam and I am shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. I am so glad I got to spend some time with you all and back in touch after so many years. He will be missed by everyone who knew him and never forgotten. My deepest condolences and love to you all.

Selma, so sorry to hear of your loss. Remember all the good times we had with Mother and Daddy...As you know we lost Mother in 83 and Daddy passed away in 2007...They loved living on the same street as you and Sam...
My wife and I did not know Mr. Nix, but we are friends with Gert and Ginger. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family on this day.

I was so sorry to hear about Sams passing. We have so many wonderful memories of Uncle Sam, Selma and the boys. The Nix family was always so special to me and I'll never forget the funny things Sam would come up with and the kindness and sweet nature of his wonderful wife, Aunt Selma.
