George, I can't believe that it has been almost a year since Marshia left us. Not a day goes by that I don't think of her and the way that she made learning fun. I would not be where I am in my educational walk if not for you and Marshia. Please know that I will be thinking about her as the anniversary date comes closer and closer. Take care and God Bless! TJ Wolski

George and Adam my thougts and pray's are with you. She will be greatly missed.

George, you are the dearest friend I've ever had. I recently learned of your loss and only wish that I could have known this wonderful lady. I long to hear from you.

I loved Marshia and felt a special bond with her. I took most of those South African pictures which she was in and I was in a number with her. George, I am so sad. I will call you tonight. Donna M. Van Slyke

Mrs. Coleman was a wonderful teacher to us. She was a very interesting person and was passionate about history. When my mother came to meet her for a National History Day meeting, she liked her right away. Mrs. Coleman will be greatly missed. -Allie Vogler

George....I just wanted to say that I truly believe, that God had a purpose for you and Marshia. She was always so bubbly ,,funny and smart .There was not too many times I didn't see a smile on her face. You were both blessed in many ways.I know it must have been a nightmare for you and the rest of our family.I know it was for Kaye & I.The main thing I'd like to convey is that we definitely wil see our loved ones again someday in paradise. That's a promise!I will never forget the time she shared bible verses with my 3 year old grandaughter;Abbi.Abbi adored her.Her courage to travel to other countries was amazing and admirable.Your patience must have been strong with faith that the Lord would keep Marcia safe on her journeys.Noe the journey is in Eternity. That's just what God's favorite children do sooner or later....Kaye and I will always be here for you.Yu know that...We love you,George.......

The consummate teacher!!! I hadn't known Marshia long here at FHMS, but her love of life and people were apparent at first meeting. She truly found what she was meant to do in this life.

My son was in Marshia's class. He was new to the school and she quickly made him feel comfortable. I also worked with her for just a few months at Forest Heights. In the past months, I wondered when she was coming back. It is heartbreaking not to see her in the classroom. My heart goes out to her family. She is missed.

Having know Marshia only since the begnning of this school year and sharing a room with her for far too short a period, I found her to the most loving of teachers with a wonderful spirit and shinning aura not usually found in people today. She took me under her wing and made my first days and subsequent weeks, at Forest Heights great. Marshai gave her support and strenght to everyone she met and everything she touched or was involved in. I shall miss her so very much. To her family, she is watching over you with love!

Marshia is the reason I have been at Pulaski Heights Middle School for the past 14 years. When I first met her, more than 15 years ago, she always had positive things to relate about her school. I realize now that was her nature, to be positive, about students. She will be missed by all who knew her, but she will live on in those who knew her and those whom she taught. Mary Johnson Pulaski Heights Middle School Little Rock

I knew Marshia both at McClellan High School and at Forest Heights Middle School. We shared so many laughs through the years, and we also often complained to each other when things weren't going as we each knew they should be. She touched so many students, and it is true that so many of her traits will live on through them. I was so proud for Marshia when she won the Stephens Award for being an excellent teacher. She was so deserving. I was also so excited when she moved over to Forest Heights with me. It was so nice to have an old "McClellan face" here. I will miss her greatly. To George and the family, I will pray for you as you deal with this loss and as you begin this difficult transition period. May God be with you.

I send my heartfelt condolences to Marshia's family, loved ones, friends, and colleagues. I knew Marshia as a teacher at McClellan High School, and I quickly came to respect and admire her dedication to teaching and learning, her passion for educating everyone she could reach about the Holocaust, and her deep love for her horses and animals. She was vibrant and compassionate, and her untimely passing is a loss to us all.

This crazy old world just won't be the same without Marshia. She could get a person excited about doing things and going to place that you might not think about going. But she would tell you how much funny you were going to have and she would be right. But Marshia we are going to miss you and our lives are the better for knowing you. God Bless.

My prayers are with you at this time of bereavement. Marshia is a very special person to all of us. We will forever remember her smile, love for horses and giving spirit. It will be difficult but she left us with so many wonderful memories

I only had a chance to know her for 7 months as her intern last fall. Sometimes she reminded me of my mom and I think that is why we got along so well. It will not be the same without her down the hall giving me ideas and sharing stories of her experiences that always made me laugh.

George & Adam: I'm so very sorry for your loss. Please let me know if there's anything I can do.

George and Adam, my heart goes out to both of you. Marshia was a one in a million, one of the most giving people I have ever met. She was my neighbor in the hall at Forest Heights but a sister in thought. She'll live forever for all the wonderful things she has done and the friend she has been. We've all been blessed to know her.

George and Adam, words can not express the sorrow I have in my heart right now. Marshia was a terrific person and showed how much she loved education by offering her students the gifts of her knowledge. She truly left this world a better place. Because of her, my love for history has grown by leaps and bounds. She will truly be missed!

Little sister, what can I say....you've touched my life in a way no one can know. You were my sister in every sense of the word. I can't say anything more than "I love you". To Adam and George, you both know how I feel, so there are no words that need to be spoken here. I love you both with all my heart.

Marshia, we are going to miss you, girl. And very thankful to God you were a part of our lives... we learned a lot from you about what to value and how to live. George and all, we are praying for you, and always here... With love.
