Ruth Arlene (Jarrett) Bettis, 83, died
She was born
During her life, she was first and foremost a devoted mother. During her career, she worked at Muhlenberg Hospital in Plainfield, NJ; UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas; worked as executive housekeeper at White River Medical Center from its inception; Arkansas Sheriff Youth Ranch; and retired as housekeeper from Lyon College.
She is survived by two sons, Gary Bettis and wife, Pat of Batesville, Ronald Bettis and wife, Linda of Conway; two daughters, Deborah Boles and husband, Bill of Batesville and Suzette Bates and husband, Terry of Cave City. Twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; former husband Delbert Bettis of Poughkeepsie, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Patrica Arlean Bettis; one great-grandchild, Ryne Gregory Bates; her parents; four brothers, William Jarrett, Austin Jarrett, Arthur Jarrett, and Odes Jarrett; and six sisters, Ozella Mobley, Marie Jarrett, Maurine Herndon, Ola McLeod, Devonia Cox, and Clearise Russell.
Funeral services will be at
Pallbearers are Eric Bates, Donald Goudeau III, Gregory Bettis, Matthew Bettis, Ronald Smead, and Michael Higginbottom. Honorary pallbearers are David Goudeau, Dr. Jim Lytle, Nathan Norris, Billy Van Winkle, Staff at Wood-Lawn Nursing Home and Dr. Robin Williams.
