July 1, 1930 - January 29, 2007

George "Cookie" Cook, age 76, of Bono, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 29th, at his residence. Born on July 1, 1930 in Bono, to Albert Columbus "Lum" and Martha Roberts Cook, he was a member of the Washington Avenue Church of Christ, and most of his working career was with Great Southern Coaches; after retirement he moved to Pocahontas, Arkansas. He then opened Mid South Bus Sales and moved back to the Bono area the last two years of his life.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Cook of the home; daughter Gail Crow and husband Gary Crow of Jonesboro, AR; two sons, Nicky A. Cook and wife, Betty Cook of Shelby Township, MI, and Darrel Cook of Jonesboro; four grandchildren, Jason Crow and wife, Jessica Crow of Pocahontas; Aaron Crow and Glen Cook, both of Jonesboro; Park Cook of Shelby Township, MI; two sisters, Vick Griffin and Ophilia Johnson, both of Jonesboro, and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

He also leaves caregivers, Dr.Nixon, Dr. White, Ron Dement and the staff of the second floor of the Northeast Arkansas Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Kelly Gene Cook; three brothers, Charlie, Jim and Billy Joe Cook; four sisters, Margaret Mitchell, Ila Vinson, Lee Fuller and Arthie Michell.

Active pallbearers will include Joe Peters, Earl Hindrix and grandsons.

Graveside funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 2, at Herndon Cemetery with Kenneth Gossett officiating.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Children's Home of Paragould, 5515 Old Walcott Road, Paragould, AR 72450 or your favorite charity.

Gail, I am so sorry for your loss, I know what your going thru, I know you dad was a wonderful man and he'll be missed by many , many friends and family.
