Leila Stephens, 83, of Scranton, AR, died Saturday, August 26, 2006 in Russellville, AR. She was born in Scranton on May 2, l923 to her parents, Gentry and Janie (Spicer) Stephens. She was a retired teacher and a member of the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Subiaco. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jimmie D. and Leon Stephens.

Survivors include her brother and his wife, Jerry & Aline Stephens; a sister-in-law, Rebecca Stephens; Nieces, Catherine Martinez, Beverly Nehus, Cynthia Benson & Caren Immel; and Nephews, Jim Stephens and David Stephens.

Services were at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Subiaco with burial in McKendree Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Jimmie Stephens, David Stephens, William Nehus, Steve Immel, Eldon McCaulley & Mickey Butler.

Honorary Pallbearers were: Kenneth Fulmer, Wayne Grey, T. J. Brown, Bud Inman, Freddie McCaulley & Carlus Lee.
