SGM Gary McNeese, 56, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at his residence.

He was born in Memphis, Tennessee. He retired from the United States Army after twenty-four years of service and having served in Desert Storm. He was a member of the First Christian Church, the Jonesboro Masonic Lodge and Ducks Unlimited.

Survivors include one son, Michael McNeese of Jonesboro; one step son, John Greeno of Weiner; two daughters, Shannon Waters of Ft. Hood, Texas and Stephanie McNeese of Jonesboro; and five grandchildren, Brenna McNeese, Hunter Liles, Ashlyn McNeese, Brianna Harrison, and Cortney Waters.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda D. McNeese; his parents, George and Cleatus Myrick McNeese; and one brother, Charles McNeese.

Pallbearers include Kevin Scrape, Mike Waters, Vontei Love, Clayton Edwards, Fred Edwards Jr. and Neil Mathes.

Funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 21 at Roller-Farmers Union Chapel. Burial will follow in the Weiner Oak Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, May 20, at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

I miss you dad! You had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone...even a stranger straight off the street. I miss hearing your military stories. Thank you for not ever being judgmental about me or my wonderful husband as others have. Thank you for always excepting everyone for who they are and knowing that no one was perfect. I love you!! Until we meet again.........
