Dee Dickson, "Dick", Halbrook, age 60, of Bryant, Arkansas died Tuesday, December 13, 2005 as a result of injuries incurred in a motor scooter accident on November 27. His size XL angel wings and seat in the bass section of the heavenly choir were waiting when he arrived in heaven.
Dick was born August 15, 1945 in Morrilton, Arkansas and grew up in Conway. He graduated from Arkansas State Teachers College/UCA in Conway with a bachelor's degree in science. He served in the Arkansas Air National Guard. He also graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Pharmacy in 1972. He practiced pharmacy at Baker Drug in Rose City, Cloverdale Pharmacy/Baker Drug in southwest Little Rock, K-Mart on Asher, and Harvest Foods.
He was predeceased by his parents, Dr. Dee Halbrook and Betty Halbrook Hukill of Conway. He is survived by Linda Halbrook and their daughters, Amy E. Halbrook of Little Elm, Texas and Mollie Halbrook of Paris, France. Other survivors are his brother, Dr. Jim Halbrook and wife, Pam, of Pascagoula, Mississippi, Matt Halbrook of Memphis, Tennessee, and Jake Halbrook of Pensacola, Florida.
Friends will remember Dick's delightful laugh, his love for and sharing about "his girls", his love of anything culinary, mishaps on the ski slopes, the challenge of any good golf course and his love for gospel music.
Dick and his family have been active members of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church for many years and memorials can be sent to their Building Fund, PO Box 31510, Little Rock, AR 72260.
Visitation will be held Friday night, December 16, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M., at Roller Drummond Southwest Funeral Home, 10900 Interstate 30, Little Rock, AR 72209, (501) 455-5800, followed by funeral services at the same location on Saturday, December 17 at 1:00 pm. Dr. Bruce Chesser and Dr. Paul Sanders will officiate. Interment will be in Pinecrest Memorial Park.

To the Halbrook familey, I have not seen Dickie since high school, but I remember him as swell guy and a very good athlete at Conway high school. My heart and prayers go out to you. Sincerely, David J Bailey

Our thoughts and prayers are with Dickie's family and friends. My husband, Charles, raced motorcycles all though high school and college, is an officer with the Christian Motorcyclists Association, and is an ordained minister with his name on our church sign as :"Motorcyclist Ministry."

My heart and prayers are with all of you, Linda, Amy, Mollie, Jim, and Pam. We had lots of fun with all the Halbrooks on many occasions. And I never will forget the time when Dickie and I were piled on a sled zipping down country club hill when the sled popped out, but we kept going. The one on the bottom of that pile ended up snow-stuffed. What a great laugher Dick was!!

I was Dick's junior high and high school coach in Conway. He was a very good athlete and a respected and kind individual. I am saddened to hear of is death. I regret that I will not be able to attend services for Dick as I am to be a pall bearer at the funeral of my cousin, here in Conway, and the visitation and funeral dates and times are the same as those for Dick.
