John K. Hefley, age 91, of Harrison, passed away July 21, 2018. The son of John K. and Nellie (Pierce) Hefley was born November 30, 1926 at Western Grove, Arkansas. John was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mildred Awbrey Norton Hefley, two brothers, William Finley and Hosea Hefley, five sisters, Ola Nichols, Edra Arl Hefley, Stella Harrison, Vellah Zukowski, Patricia Gunn and niece Wilta Mae Cross.
John served his Country in the Army during World War II. He was member of Eagle Heights Baptist Church in Harrison and taught the Senior Men's Sunday School Class for many years. John owned and operated John K. Hefley Construction.
He is survived by one sister, Julie Younes of Harrison, Arkansas. Two sons, James and wife Ione Norton of Smithfield, Virginia and Special Son Dale and wife Linda Norton of Harrison, Arkansas. Six grandchildren, Vicki and husband Rodney Mathis of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Carrie and husband Ted Carter of Harrison, Angie, James and Fred Norton of Idaho and Marli Landun of Cheaspeake, Virginia. Three nephews, Special Nephew Raymond Hefley, Steven Paul and John Stanley Zukowski. Nine nieces Dana Irey, Susan Echols, LeAnn Johnson, Deb Marley, Jan Sweeney, Tricia Linch, Jan Greene and Glenna Woolard. Eleven great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and special friend Thelma Keef.
Visitation was Tuesday, Jul;y 24, 2018 from 6-8 PM at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
Funeral services was Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
Interment was at Maplewood Cemetery, Harrison, Arkansas.
Pallbearers were Earl Johnson, Lester Daniels, Rodney Mathis, Ted Carter, Robert Marley, Bill Linch, Trey Marley and Chris Marley.
Honorary pallbearers were Katrina Davis, June Christian, Sylvia Raverty, Marie Mashek, James Vick, Jamie Patton, Other staff of Mt. Vista and Members of the Senior Men's No. 3 Sunday School Class.

John was always fun to visit. He was so helpful to my mom when she needed assistance and I greatly appreciated that. He was a special guy and will be missed.

An extraordinary contractor and builder, an extraordinary man. John exemplified honesty and integrity.

John was a wonderful stepfather and was very dedicated and loving to our mother Mildred and will be greatly missed.
