Helen Maxwell Flippen 78, of Conway, passed away Friday, November 4, 2016. Helen was born on October 4, 1938 in Wooster, Arkansas to Henry and Mable Maxwell.
Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years L.S. Richard Flippen.
She is survived by her two daughters, Connie Creed of North Little Rock, and Debra Flippen of Saltillo.
She was a graduate of Greenbrier High School in 1957. Helen was a farmer most of her life and a proud breeder of registered Black Angus Cattle. She loved all the animals, especially the horses, several exceptional dogs, and her most favorite, Trouble-Cat. She also enjoyed gardening and spent many hours bush-hogging.
Helen was employed for 24 years at the Conway Human Development Center. She enjoyed her job and thought of her clients as family. She often referred to the CHCD as home away from home.
Retirement provided time and opportunity for her and husband Richard to travel, camp, fish and take very long rides. She was a wonderful mother and wife, a hard worker and a good friend.
She will be very sadly missed…

I worked with Mrs. Helen at CHDC. She was a very hard worker who was always willing to help anyone. She was kind and thoughtful and the residents she served thought of her like a mother. I am so sorry you lost such a dear person.

I remember Ms Flippin so well. She and Flip use to come by to visit, mainly Tony! I always enjoyed her and the times we visited them, we had some good laughs and always felt welcome. May she rest in peace and may you all be comforted in your loss.
