To all the Mize family, I am so sorry to hear of this departure. May God bless and keep you all under his wings. I've known the Mize children for many years. Edna and my mother were really good friends; although they didn't get to see one another much they kept the phone lines hot. I apologize that this message has been delayed.

I am sorry for your loss of a beautiful and sweet special lady. I was out of town and unable to attend the funeral but the family is in my thoughts and prayers. Ms. Edna will always play a huge part in my childhood memories at South Mountain Freewill Baptist Church. She taught at VBS and our Sunday school class over the years. I will never forget her beautiful alto voice, especially singing one of my favorite songs, "It's Really Surprising". I never sing that song that I don't think of Ms. Edna. She will live forever in my heart. Your family was truly blessed to have such a wonderful mother and grandmother. Heavenly angel.

I was so sorry to hear about your loss. I love Edna. She was always so pleasant and loving. I remember her smile so much even though I haven't been able to see her for years, I will always remember that smile. I remember going over to yall's house after church and eating lunch. She was such a good cook. I know that she will be missed so much by everyone that knew her. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I love you everyone.

I have such wonderful memories of coming to cousin Edna's house as a young girl. Mom (Olevia Bratton Cates) would drive us to Marshall. We loved sleeping in the old iron bed!!
Your mom would have something wonderful cooking and she always had pies and cakes on the counter. We would all gather around her kitchen table and eat a yummy meal. Always had a stack of bread on a saucer and butter on the table with the best tea. Karen, Kathy and I would play outside and run around her yard having a blast. Great memories!!! I loved your mom so much and enjoyed writing letters to each other over the years. I always told her I was so jealous of her beautiful skin! She had the softest hands. Love and miss you!!!

Ms Edna, was a precious lady. She was loved by all who knew her.Our prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Prayers being sent to all the family. Ma Edna as I've always called her was a sweet beautiful lady and the best m&m cookie maker. I loved visiting her and the last time I did, we played bingo. I think we all enjoyed it. I know my granny was there to meet her at the pearly gates and rejoice in her coming home.

Granny I know your in a much better place but I will always miss you, we love you so much and can't wait to see you again in heaven one day!
