Ella Mobley Melton, 98, of Cord, Arkansas died Saturday, January 4, 2014, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
She was born July 21, 1915, in Cord the daughter of Theodore Isaac Mobley and Edna Hatler Mobley.
She loved her special kitty cat, "Princess Dianna," watching sports and reading her Bible. She was a member of the Independence County Home Demonstration Club and a member of Oakridge United Methodist Church in Cord.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Gail Hickerson of Cord; two sisters, Melba Clouse and Lawanda Berry; two nieces, Jan Daniel and her husband, Ernie, and Lynn Haas; a nephew, Von Clouse and his wife, Janice, all of Batesville; and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin Melton; brother, Leburn Mobley; and sister, Virginia Melton.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2014 at the Cord Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff Childers officiating. Music will be provided by Nick Fudge.
Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery in Cord by Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
Pallbearers will be Von Clouse, Jimmy Brewer, Eric Nast, Robert Simmons, Keith Gardner, Tony Smith, Royce Bradley, Tanner Bradley, and Randy Bradley.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Robert Walton, Bufford Maddox, John Conner Jr., Bill Melton, Gene Melton, J. T. Godwin, Maurice Bradley, Johnny Dean Clouse, and Ronnie Lynn Clouse.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2014, at the funeral home.

Kathy, I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. I know how much you loved her and how much she loved you. She is a beautiful lady and I know she will be missed by many. My mom has been gone for 3 years now and not a day goes by that I don't miss her. Love you bunches and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Kathy, It was always a joy for me to stay with Granny. I loved her as if she were my own. Today I feel so lost. I feel as if I have lost my own mother again and it hasnt been a yr since my mom passed. Granny was always glad when I would come she made that no secret. It was a pleasure to take care of her.
