Hilda Shirley Reichstadt

of North Little Rock, AR

June 3, 1938 - December 31, 2013

Hilda Shirley Reichstadt, 75, of North Little Rock, died peacefully on December 31, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. Hilda was born in Humphrey, AR on June 3, 1938 to Anderson and Fern Shirley.

Hilda was preceded in death by her parents and a loving sister, Marilyn Atchison.

After retiring from banking, she opened Pointe in Time Antique Shop in North Little Rock. Her main focus and desire in life was to be a servant to her Lord Jesus Christ. Hilda held her Minister's License with the Independent Assemblies of God. She spent her life helping others. She was president of the Room of Prayer Evangelistic Center, located next door to her antique shop. There each Tuesday, prayer meetings are held, and many people come from all areas of the state to pray for our nation, leaders, and needs of hurting people. On Thursdays, the Soup Kitchen serves the elderly, homeless, and homebound folks. That was the desire of her heart to help others. Hilda was a member of Friendly Chapel Church of the Nazarene in North Little Rock.

She is survived by one beloved son, Everette Lee Rhoden, and one precious grandson, Luke Everette Rhoden, both of North Little Rock; one sister, Diann Payne, and brother-in-law, Jack Payne; one beloved brother, Tom Shirley, and sister-in-law, Ruth Shirley; two nephews, Mike (Keely) Shirley of Frisco, TX and Tom Shirley of Bryant; three nieces, Pam Atchison of Little Rock, Kim (Steve) Barrett of Pineville, MO, and Brandie (Jared) Luchsinger of Bryant; and a host of other family members and friends.

Preceding her in death were her sister and her brother-in-law, Marilyn and Bob Atchison.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 4, 2014, at Friendly Chapel Church of the Nazarene, 116 South Pine and Brother Paul Blvd, North Little Rock with Pastor Brother Paul Holderfield, Jr. officiating. Graveside services will follow at 3:30 P.M., Williams Cemetery, Humphrey, AR. Family will receive friends 6:00 8:00 P.M., Friday, January 3, 2014, at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, AR 72211 (501) 224-8300. We just learned of Ms. Hilda's passing and are heartbroken. Ms. Hilda would come to the store for her printer or copy needs and was always such a joy to visit with. She was so brave in her fight and such a bright spot in my day. I will truly miss visiting with her, her smile, and sweet hugs. Thank you for sharing her with us.

I got to know Hilda by being a Baptist Hospice
volunteer. I would call her two or more times a
month and we would send cards to each other.
She always thought about others. I loved talking
with her about the Razorbacks. I will miss calling her. I'm glad that I got to know Hilda.

The only time I met Ms. Reichstadt was this past September 2013. I was introduced to her by my Wife.  The first thing she said to me was, "I've been praying for you."  She was truly a God sent angel to many who new her.  She made feel like we've known each other for years knowing now I'll never forget her passion, strength and love for living souls.  My sincere condolences to the Family in the loss of this great woman of God.

My favorite little sweetheart, Hilda.
It has been a privilege, an honor and a blessing to have known you. You have been a friend, a sister in Christ, and a warrior on the streets of LA and across the country. I love others now - more, because of you. The great faith and love you have for the Lord Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Ghost are the strongest I've witnessed; in anyone single person.
YOU WILL BE MISSED!!!
I love you and you are part of my forever family.

I didn't have the blessing of knowing Ms. Hilda for very long, but the first day I met her, I knew immediately the impact she had on every person she came in contact with. She was a wonderful person and a great testimony for the Lord and the power of prayer. The Angels were singing loud and strong when she entered the pearly gates! What a wonderful feeling it is to know that our loved ones are waiting for us in Heaven and are now receiving the rewards they so deserve. My prayers and thanks go to Ms. Hilda's family today and always.

I feel so honored that the Lord brought Hilda into my life and my dad's life as well. The world has truly lost a prayer warrior. You don't really meet alot of people like her. You could just see the Lord in her. I know she is with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. I know that she blessed so many people and yes the Lord welcomed her and said " well done my good and faithful servant. She will be greatly missed . I am so thankful to have called her my friend.

To the Shirley Family,
I send my deepest sympathy to each of you. When I heard that Ms. Hilda was attacked again in her body, I prayed each and everyday for her, and for God's will to be done. When I heard that she had passed on I was saddened in my spirit, but I was also rejoicing with her, because she was no longer suffering from this sickness. I will truely miss her smiling face on this earth, but one day I will see her smiling face again. I will always remember her for the many prayers that she sent up for people of many different walks. The bible tells us that to be absent from the body is be present with the lord. And Ms. Hilda is surely with her lord and her saviour Jesus Christ. To God Be The Glory For All The Things He Has Done For Ms. Hilda He has blessed her with (75) Good and blessed years of life. Love ya and miss you my dear sister in christ.

Ms. Reichstadt was my walking testimony. I cared for her for approx 2 years with Baptist Hospice. She always met me with a smile even though, at times, she was not feeling at ther best. Whenever there was a bad report, she would prove it all wrong. She was always praying with me and for me and my famly. Whenever it was time for me to visit her, I made sure that my schedule was clear, just so that we could visit for hours. We talked about the Lord for hours. We had a bond. Her mind was never on herself, but on those that she served. The soup kitchen and Room of Prayer were a joy to her, and I believe that is what kept her going. She always prayed with people and brought them to the Lord. She will forever be my angel. I miss her terribly. But God has told her that it is time for her to rest. She is definitely getting the highest rewards in heaven right now. God has told her "well done, my good and faithful servant." Until we meet again..... Love you lots!!!
