My thoughts and prayers are with your family during your loss. I was so heartbroken to hear the news of Mrs. Bacot. During my years at ASU she was such a joy as my teacher and while doing my graduate work. There are so many times I think of things she said to me over the years bringing a smile to my face. She taught me so many lessons about education as well as life. I will forever remember her as a very gracious and loving lady who I would so look forward to seeing at the SECA and ASU conferences. She came to my house once to pick me up to attend a funeral of another professor's mother. A lady with the biggest heart and warm feelings for others. Although I have lost a dear friend, God has gained an angel with beautiful wings. She will always be watching over her family and friends guiding them along their way. If I can do anything please let me know. She spoke often of her children and grand-children and she was so proud of all of you. God Bless you all and provide you strength and comfort in the future days.

Dear Bacot and Waddell Families:

Cathy and I were so very sad to hear of the loss of your loving mother and grandmother.

Nancy was an exceptional person and professional educator. Over the course of 41 years on the ASU faculty she educated so many, many future teachers. These professionals are with us now educating our children. She passed on her knowledge, skill, compassion, and strong work ethic to others on a daily basis. She was a wonderful colleague to work with. Her contributions are rare these days. She will be greatly missed by all.

With deep sympathy and graditude,

John And Cathy Hall

Mrs. Bacot was a gracious, Godly Southern Belle who truly cared for her students, esp. those who were troubled. She took the time to call me at home and request that I return to
class when I was going through the roughest time of my life. SHE CARED for people and she brought out the best in them. Enter into your rest with our Lord, Mrs. Bacot & I will see you when I get there.

Mrs. Bacot was a precious lady and an awesome professor.
I got to know her when I was a graduate assistant at ASU where she was loved and respected by all who knew her. Sne always had a sweet smile and a kind word for everyone and could be depended on for a word of encouragement when students were down and out. Mrs. Bacot had it together! Heaven is surely brighter.

I was an early childhood/elementary education student at ASU between 1972 and 1976. I was in several of your mother's classes. I even flew to New Orleans with her to attend an early childhood convention. She was my favorite education teacher. She helped me to become a good teacher. I am now retired. I taught first grade for 33 years. A school year never went by without me thinking of your mother. Last year I caught a glimpse of her, but was unable to catch up with her. I would have loved speaking with her. I know she would have told me how much she loved you. You are in my prayers.

My thoughts & prayers are with each of you. Mrs. Bacot loved her children & grandchildren more than words could ever express. She always had a story to tell me about one of the girls or Max each time we talked. I will forever cherish all the memories I have of her from the past 8+ years at ASU. She treated me like family from my first day on & I will miss her so much. Everyday since she retired, we talked either by email, text or phone. God truly blessed all of us by giving us the years we had with this precious lady!!

My heartfelt sympathy the family of a beautiful soul. I loved your mom during my years at ASU. I did not make it to her retirement celebration but have her card here on my sofa table, waiting to purchase a gift card. I'm so, so sad that she is now gone and I won't have a chance to let her know what she meant to me. You two children were blessed!
