Veda Ann Holland, age 72, of Quitman, went to be with the Lord and her Mama and Daddy on Thursday, July 4, 2013. What started off being a blind date to Doss Holland and a six week courtship, led to a life of happiness and love. Married for 55 years, as of October 17, 2013, they have four children, Kimberley Holland, Connie Edwards( Denny), Mary McCrary (Ray), Lonnie Holland (Sherri); ten grandchildren: Ray Edwards(Lisa), Hanna Fenley (Luke), Halisha Stacy (Cole), Craig Johnson (Rachel ), Joshua Johnson (Tory), Katie McCrary, Macy McConnell (Joe), Madeline Holland, Lily Holland, Lucy Holland; seven great-grandchildren, Emma, Kylee, T.J., Joshua Monroe, Chase, Brantley and soon to arrive Wrigley. Veda was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Delma Wilcox.
Mama drove a school bus for 22 years and was a substitute teacher for 34 years at the Quitman School District. She was a member of Ole Salem Primitive Baptist Church for 50 plus years. God blessed all of us to have her as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be missed so much and always remembered through the lives she touched. We love you Mama and know you are wrapped in the arms of the Lord and Your Mama and Daddy.
Visitation will be held July 7, 2013, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, July 8th, at Ole Salem Primitive Baptist Church in Gravesville with Bro. John Cooper and Bro. Harold Stumbaugh officiating. Interment will be at Salem Cemetery, with Denny Edwards, Ray McCrary, Ray Edwards, Craig Johnson, Joshua Johnson, Luke Fenley, Cole Stacy, andJoe McConnell and serving as pallbearers.

Doss and family, I am so sad to hear of Ann's passing. She was such an inspiration to me. A wonderful lady, mom and grandmother. I will miss her alot.
