Ellis Glenn Horner, Jr., 58, of Little Rock, passed away March 10, 2013 at his home. Ellis grew up in Blytheville, Arkansas. He graduated from Blytheville High School and attended the University of Arkansas. He worked with his father in Horner Financial Services before moving to Little Rock. Ellis experienced a long and successful career in the insurance industry. He founded his own firm, Advisor Insurance Services, in 2004. As a life insurance specialist, he was well-respected by investment advisors and their clients around Arkansas and the mid-south. A true professional, Ellis was asked to help with the most difficult cases and his expert knowledge and honesty were a gift to the profession.
Ellis was preceded in death by his father, Ellis Glenn Horner, and is survived by his mother, Joan Perkins Horner; his sister Jane Johnson and her husband Joe; his brother Joe Horner, his wife Annette and their children Denise and Jay. He leaves a much loved friend Jan Toler Woody and her daughter Ashley Woody. Ellis loved Ashley's children, Payton and Kade. He also leaves an uncle Rance Perkins and his wife Martha; and cousins Jennifer Perkins and Charlotte Caroom, her husband Scotty and their children Sydney, Alex and Ely.
Ellis loved fly fishing on the Little Red and White Rivers with friend Mark Falkoff and playing poker with his poker buddies.
Visitation will be held at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas, (501)224-8300, Wednesday, March 13, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested for Argenta Arts Foundation, Tales from the South, 201 East Fourth Street, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72114.

I'm saddened to hear of Ellis's passing. I regret I haven't seen him in many years but have fond memories of our childhood and young adult years. Ellis always had a smile on his face, a great guy, fun to be around. I know he'll be missed by many. My condolences to Joan, Jane and Joe.

I know you are well loved. You were a fine and caring person. A true gentleman. I wish we would have caught up more. I know how loved you were by your family and you will be incredibly missed. I know I'm a better person for having known you.

As I remember Ellis in our youth, I never saw him angry and with a perpetual smile. He had some jokes that would always lift you up as if he new why you were down that day. It is obvious Ellis had a great heart and was a true gentlemen. Ellis you will missed but never forgotten. RIP.

I dearly loved Ellis. He always made me laugh and smile especially if I had been crying - he always made me realize how important it was to smile and love life! Good bye my buddy, my pal and my brother I never had. You were there for me when I needed you and I will never forget the kindnesses you showed me through out your short life.
