Mike Thorne, 52, of Batesville, died Tuesday, December 25, 2012.
He was born on Wednesday, December 21, 1960 in Batesville, to Bobby Thorne and Ivone Foushee Thorne.
Mike was a 1978 graduate of Batesville High School, where he played football, and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. He loved to watch sports on television, especially the Razorbacks, and was an avid Batesville Pioneer fan.
Survivors include his mother, Ivone Thorne of Batesville, a brother, Larry Thorne of Locust Grove, and a sister, Cheryl Ann Thorne of Jacksonville.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Pallbearers will be David Thorne, Mike Alexander, Timmy Thompson, John Michael Thompson, Bradley Thorne, Eric Thorne, Ricky Pool and Danny Davis. Honorary Pallbearers are Marion Thompson, Joe Bill Baker, Glendon Pool and Charles Foushee.
Funeral services will be Friday, December 28, at 10:00 a.m. in the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Bob Dailey officiating. Burial will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. prior to the service.

Larry and Ivon,

I wanted to say that I’m sorry for your loss. No doubt Michael will certainly be missed by family and lifelong friends. We need encouraging thoughts to make it through difficult times like these. John 5:28, 29, tells us that there will be a resurrection of our loved ones that have died. Not only will there be a resurrection, but we all have the opportunity to live forever together in a paradise earth. (Psalms 37:29) I hope that these scriptures bring a measure of comfort and peace to you and your family and please accept my deepest condolences.
