Ruby Milligan Smith, 77, of Batesville died Saturday, October 27, 2012 at a local hospital.
She was born August 9, 1935 in Batesville and was the daughter of George Leroy Milligan and Lucy Carmen (Patterson) Milligan.
Ruby retired as an operator for Bell Telephone. She was a member of Faith Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Batesville. She enjoyed reading and watching the "Inspiration" channel.
Survivors include her husband, Curtis Ewell Smith of Batesville; two brothers, Virgil Dick Milligan of Moorefield and Harry F. Milligan of Little Rock; sisters, Pearl Milligan Isley of Batesville and Betty Milligan Duncan of Poughkeepsie; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Gregory Ewell Smith; parents; brother, Owen Steve Milligan; and sister, Margaret Nell Milligan.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Faith Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Alan Meinzer officiating.
Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery in Cord under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
Pallbearers are Joseph Milligan, Ricky Isley, Nicholas Steele, Tommy Duncan, Keith Mason and James Duncan. Honorary pallbearers are David Steele, Betty Cowden, Bobby Coleman, WRMC Intensive Care Unit Staff, WRMC Wound Healing Center Staff, Dr. Ted Shields, Dr. Verona Brown, and Dr. David Posey.
Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, October 29, 2012 at the funeral home.
