Harley Theodore Jaco, Sr., 72, of Pleasant Plains died Thursday in Southside.
He was born in Harrisburg, Arkansas on June 24, 1940 to Harley Jaco and Mittie (Roex) Jaco.
He worked at Gunitt for 15 years as an auto mechanic before retiring. He was also a jack of all trades providing for his family and he was a member of the Blackland Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Leah (Sample) Jaco of Pleasant Plains; five sons: Harley Jaco, Jr. of Pleasant Plains, Tommy Jaco of Payneway, John Jaco of Mount Pleasant, Charles Jaco of Pleasant Plains, and Jimmy Jaco of Bradford; 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; five brothers: LeRoy Jaco of Southside, Jimmy Jaco of Florida, Richard Jaco of Bald Knob, J. B. Jaco, and Leon Jaco both of Memphis, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael Jaco; two granddaughters: Rebecca and Nikita Jaco; one grandson, Wyatt Jaco; and two brothers: Tommy Jaco and Kenneth Jaco.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Blackland Freewill Baptist Church with Shane King officiating. Burial will follow at Putman Cemetery in Pleasant Plains under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
Pallbearers are Harley Jaco, Jr., Tommy Jaco, John Jaco, Charles Jaco, Jimmy Jaco, and Tanner Jaco. Honorary pallbearer is Michael Jaco.
Visitation is from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

I am just seeing this and as usual am late. Harley was a good man. I met him when he worked at Intermed in Batesville. Although it's been some time, my prayers remain with his family.
