She was a delegate to the World Methodist Conference in Nairobi, Kenya in 1986. She served as delegate from the Little Rock Conference to the General Conference in 1984 and 1988. Doris was the first women to lead the Little Rock Conference delegation to the General Conference. She served two quadrennium as Director on the General Board of Global Ministries and traveled to mission sites all over the world. In Africa, she was made an honorary citizen. I first knew Doris when we were roommates at West Gulf School of Mission. I think it was the last one she attended. She was a kind and gentle lady and I wish I could have known her longer. My prayers are with her family as you go through this difficult time.

Doris was a treasury of blessing to her family, her Church and her friends. She will be missed but memories of her life, her service, and her devotion will continue to light our paths here on earth. My prayer is for those memories to be ever bright and encouraging to her family, and for her spirit to find it's fullness in the eternal and unlimited life of God.

My sympathy and condolences to the family of Doris Fish. I had known her for many years. SDhe was an inspiration to many of us, who having worked in the mission field and knew the encouragement that Ms. Doris brought into the arena of our life during those times. She knew how to inspire courage and strwength to do God's great and wonderful work! She will be remembered as a legacy in the former Little Rock Conference and surely in the Arkansas Conference. We will miss her face, her smile and her wonderful nature that had a way of helping one feel secure in doing God's work!! May God bless this family in their time of grief with gratitudr and joy!!

Doris took me under her wing several times in work of United Methodist Women and the work of the LR Confernce. She had the greatest smile that warmed your heart, always encouraging words and of course, she was filled with the love and spirit of our Lord.

She probably did not realize she was one of my mentors - often God used Doris to lead me in the right direction.
All of you are in my prayers,
Janis West

I'm am so sorry to hear about the passing of Doris. I was at the visitation for my own father, when I got the news. I was shocked, as a few weeks ago at Stan's birthday party, Doris looked wonderful and the same as ever. It must be very difficult for you, and I know you will miss her greatly.

Of course, my memories of her mostly deal with the many times that she and Louis took Karen and I back Conway after the weekends home from college. What a sweet and wise mother she was!
God Bless! My thoughts and prayers are with you.

She was a very dear cousin that I had the pleasure of knowing from an early age. I remember the time she, Wanda and Bobby and i built a fire in the "Grove" between the houses at Pansy and cooked our own dinner. I suppose it marked a new level of independence for us all.
It has been our pleasure to have maintained that friendship through all these years.
