I am so sorry to hear of Ms. Opal's passing. I am also sorry I didn't know when it happened. We all loved Opal and Floyd very much and always considered them part of our family. They and Mother and Dad spent many happy times together as I am sure they are now. My love to all her family. Donna Jo Stubbs Stroud

This is Shelly (Stubbs) Showmar, the granddaughter of Doyle and Mildred Stubbs, daughter of Mac and Vena Stubbs. I knew Ms. Opal from back-in-the-day as a very good friend of my grandparents. I remember the way my Mammaw spoke of her and Mr. Floyd and how tickled she got when she spoke of fun times during their travels. Ms. Opal attended our Stubbs family reunion several years ago as we felt as though she was part of our family. I was saddened to hear that she had passed away and we hadn't heard, but know that, as Christians, we will see her again in Heaven! I can just imagine how much fun the four of them are having, as we speak, and how exciting it will be to see them all again. Just wanted you to know how much our family thinks of her and Mr. Floyd.

Rest in peace Aunt Opal.

Aunt Opal was my mother's last relative on her mother's and her father's. All are now gone. I will remember going to her house in Mt. View and other places when I was a little girl and all the good food and kindness she and Uncle Floyd had for us all. Although she and her husband did not have children, I know she treated my mother as her own. She also made the world a better place for many children because she was a teacher. When I was a young woman early in my career, I remember stopping by her home coming back from a job interview in Little Rock. Although she did not know I would be coming by, she was happy to see me and so kind to me, offering me food and a place to stay. I was happy to see her smiling face after a hard day driving. She will be missed.

All my life I thought my daddy's aunt was one of the prettiest women I had ever seen, and so sweet to boot. I have wonderful memories of visits with her and Uncle Floyd. At least now they can be together again forever. Today I said a final goodbye to my Aunt Opal; I'll miss her!

Mrs. Opal was always such a sweet smiling woman. I loved going to her hall in the nursing center - knowing that she would be there with a smile on her face. She will be missed by all that knew her. Thoughts & Prayers are with the family.

We are sorry to hear of Ms. Opal's passing. She will be remembered for her kindness, gentleness and the love in her heart for others. She was an amazing lady and I'm thankful to have known her and Mr. Floyd.

So sorry to hear of the loss of a dear lady. Mrs. Birchfield was my fourth grade teacher at Mtn. View. She will be missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with today. I met Ms. Opal in the nursing home and she always had a sweet smile on her face.

Mrs. Birchfield was my third grade teacher at Dennard. As school started that year, I suffered the loss of my baby sister, DeeAnn, who was only two. Mrs. Birchfield was so very kind and thoughtful to me and our family that she was always special to me. Her soft voice and beautiful soul endeared her to all her students. Later as an adult and a teacher myself, I loved running into her because she always asked about my family and my own school happenings. I am sorry Alzeheimer's took her remarkable mind but I am glad she had many healthy, happy years.

Mrs. Opal always had a smile for me when I would see her at the nursing home. She was such a sweet, wonderful lady. I will miss her.
My condolences to the family.

My memories of Opal go back before I ever started to school. She and Floyd lived at Shady Grove for many years and were kind, caring people. I will always remember Opal's sweet voice and that beautiful smile. I believe our loss is Heaven's gain.

Opal was such a wonderful person. She will be missed by many. I will miss going by to say hello and see her sweet smiling face at the nursing home. Mom loved her so much!!!
