Delores June Root

of Harriet, AR

March 7, 1930 - October 30, 2011

Delores Root, age 81, went to meet her God on a beautiful Sunday morning at her residence in Harriet, Arkansas. She was born in Wagner, Oklahoma on March 7th, 1930 to Ernest Heckman and Irene (Brant) Heckman.

Her parents and one daughter, Susan Brown, precede Delores in death.

She is survived by her husband Robert of the home, whom she cared for and loved for 33 years; one daughter, Paula Deal of the Colorado Springs, Colorado area; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Delores loved our God. In her later years her poor health prevented attendance at Red Oak Freewill Baptist Church. She taught her husband about God as she went through her days with patience and understanding. "Dee" graduated high school and Business College. She worked as a bookkeeper at Newman's Department store in Enid, Oklahoma. She and her husband also operated greenhouses and kennel businesses. She loved her flowers and her yard along with the three Yorkshire Terriers that are missing her.

Arrangements are by Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas.

Cremation services will be private and the family would appreciate any donations made in her name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105, (901) 578-2805.

Dee will be sorely missed.
