Donald James Coleman, age 74, of Marshall, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at the Veterans Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born in Denver, Colorado on September 13, 1936 to James Coleman and Blanche (Howard) Coleman.
Donald was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served for over six years. He was a coach and assistant coach of many different sports to all the children. Donald was an excellent carpenter and he used his skills to help his children remodel their homes. He was a kind and generous man who would give the shirt off his back to those in need. He will be missed and mourned by many.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty; and one son, Daryl Barton.
Survivors include three sons, Timothy Coleman and wife Charlotte of Magnolia, TX, Michael Coleman and wife Linda of Marshall and Royce Coleman and wife Carrie of Harriet; one daughter, Donna Upton and husband Jeff of Marshall; eight grandchildren, Henry Smith and wife Jackie of Marshall, Ricky Upton and wife Rebecca of Marshall, Silver Hays and husband Jason of Dumas, TX, Chad Coleman and wife Justine of Magnolia, TX, Vicki Ward and husband Matthew of Marshall, Brandy Upton Sutterfield of LA, Todd Coleman and wife Genevie of Magnolia, TX and Marty Upton and wife Tasha of Marshall; twenty-four great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; three sisters, Barbara Johnson, Janean Petersen and Linda Miller; four brothers, Jerry Coleman, Carl Coleman, Jimmy Coleman and Bruce Coleman; one sister-in-law, Ethel Reeves; and his best friends, Tom and John Cain, both of Harriet.
Cremation services are by Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas
A Memorial Service for Donald James Coleman will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 1st, 2011 at The Lord's House of Prayer in Marshall with Bro. Allen Brock officiating.

I am so very sorry to hear about your family's loss. I am praying for you during this difficult time.

I am so sad to hear about Don's passing. Pa pa was a good man, and his kindness towards me and my girls will never be forgotten. I wish I could be at his service on Wednesday, but since I can't please know that I am there in heart. May God Bless and comfort you. We love you all!
P.S. Silver is the daughter of Royce and Carrie Coleman. Donald is Silver's Grandfather.
