Troy Gene Swafford, 74 of Searcy, went home to meet his savior on Monday, April 11, 2011. He was born September 19, 1936 in Alma, Arkansas to the late Troy Monroe and Daisy Dale Swafford. Bro. Swafford was a member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church and former Pastor of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Augusta, AR and the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Dewitt, AR.
Survivors include his wife of almost 54 years, Mary Moore Swafford of Searcy; one son, Ricky Swafford and wife Denise of Searcy; one daughter, Tammy Arnold and husband Gene of Pleasant Plains; seven grandchildren, Mandy Blythe (Robert); Ethan Swafford; Brandye Kemper (Matt); Jason Garrison; Elizabeth Collins (Derek); Brandon Arnold (Heather); David Arnold; six great grandchildren, Brooke Ashenberger; Noah Blythe; Gracey and Mary Collins; Aiden and Cooper Arnold; one sister, Lucy Churchwell of Searcy; mother-in-law, Mildred Moore of Searcy; and a host of friends and church family.
Graveside service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Holly Springs Cemetery. Arrangements are by Roller-Daniel Funeral Home, Searcy.
That was my uncle, who I miss so much! I was fairly young when it happened so I don't remember much about it. I can't remember what he looks like and almost every night I cry myself to sleep thinking about him and my many other losses. I miss you Uncle Troy Gene!
